Gunboat nevermore

By ozmodon, in X-Wing

OOoo, look, the childish meme's now come to the fore... meh,

Jar Jar has his fans regardless.

Sorry but, Jar Jar's fans are either beyond foolish, or children.

That clumsy, almost racially-profiled-stereotyped, annoying idiot was absolutely crap on screen, and a piss poor excuse for an atempt at slapstick comedy

Your personal opinion does not make fact, is all I will reply on the matter.

You are literaly the only person I have ever seen defend/like Jar Jar that isnt 9 years old.

And no it doesnt make it fact...that is my opinion.

But he was everything I said in my description of him was fact.:

He was pretty much racially stereotyped in manner of speech, and a few other things.

He was clumsy, and that among other actns such as trying to grab the fruit with his tongue at dinner was an attempt at comedy in the slapstick style. And everyone I have seen until now that again hasnt been a child hated that attempt at comedy.

He was a flat out idiot, even Quigon Jin couldnt stand him in the movie (no I dont mean the actor). So those are facts.

Your facts sound like you have issues with the script and not the character itself. Because your "facts" critize problems with the script. And I have yet to see anyone defending the prequel scripts in general. They are super terrible with some of the weakest dialog in all of movie history. ^-^

It most certainly is my issues with the script, but where does the characer and script split from each other, and where do they merge? Also look at several other characters: Anakin, also an issue, but that is for another whole set of reasons. Padme, is believable except for being elected as Queen at 14ish years old...elected, really? But then you get charaters like Palpatine and Kenobi, Dooku, Fett, and others that are thought out well. So not all characters suffered as greatly in the script process.

Binks in the Clone Wars series isnt quite as bad. I also think that has some to do with tha being directly made for children, so they kept him the way he was if in a toned down version.....the movies were made for kids and adults, and his characer in them is terrible.

What does this have to do with Gunboats?

You know a discussion's gone to hell when people play Pyramid Wars rather than finish an Indiana Jones set up.

What does this have to do with Gunboats?

It hasnt been a gunboat discussion or a anti-gunboat discussion for several pages now. Topics typically chane on a thread, just as this one did. For a while it was almost flat out attackes between members of the forums on here.
