New Dark Heresy Designer Diary: Damnation Looms Nigh

By FFG Ross Watson, in Dark Heresy

Greetings Dark Heresy fans!

This week's designer diary has a double threat. First, I present some information on the upcoming second part of the Haarlock's Legacy Trilogy, an adventure centred around the rotting core of Sinophia's capital—Damned Cities is coming soon!

Second, I have prepared an 8-page, full-colour enhancement for The Radical's Handbook, entitled Salvation Demands Sacrifice. Within, you will find three additional Radical Career options: The demagogue, infil-traitor, and saboteur. Enjoy!

First off all, I want to express many thankfullness for sharing these as a web release with us. ...and in addtion, it will make those "want-the-Saboteuer!"-guys stop nagging at ya night and day (enough to drive you NUTS) gui%C3%B1o.gif

While I do not see much use for the Infil-Traitor and finding the Sabteuer "nice, but not astounding", I am game wise quiet happy with the Demagoge. It is always good if an Adept gets a little more to do then just "knowing stuff" happy.gif

"Preiset Sie!"

WOOOT! gran_risa.gif

It's like I got my Christmas presents early! Can't wait to try these in my next game! gui%C3%B1o.gif

awesome, thaniks for putting up what hit the cutting room floor! :-D

Ok, looked over the classes...

Pretty neat! Very RP heavy classes... power gamers and players who like heavy action might only be drawn to the Saboteur, but all of them present GREAT adventure hooks. I love the name Infil-Traitor. THANKS FOR THIS! :)

Err... my head hurts... what's going on?! sorpresa.gif

*Infil-Traitor memetic programming triggers*

I got the perfect adventure that will cause TPK every time! MWHAHA! demonio.gif

Very nice. I'm glad you found a way to get this to us. Demagogue would have been perfect for my soon-to-be-NPC Psyker. (On the other hand, her induction into the Tyrantine Cabal will ease her transitition into an old ally whose aid furthers her own agenda).

I could see a sabotuer providing service to the more subtle of puritanical inquisitors. Sometimes, heretics need to die in a sudden righteous blaze. And sometimes, their foul lair needs to tragically collapse, killing all inside. As the Emperor wills it.

Ross, you are the man.

For that matter, Demagogue could be just as puritanical as radical. After all, their big thing is inspiring mobs to riotous hatred... sometimes that's what's needed to root out witch loving officials who the populace were duped into loving and supporting, raise a quick army to put those mutants back in their place, or storm that castle on the hill where that heretek is making a horrible monster from reanimated dead parts.

Demagogue's inspire hatred. Hatred is a virtue. So, they can't be all bad ;-)

demagogue is just a tool remenber but unlike the other he is the one that can believe is own lies at least most than the other. the probleme with this kind of fool is that they easily goes beyond their usefulness and think that they are their own master, worst they believe they are in charge and the mob will follow them. when they reached this point they risk a accident.

but damned it is pleasant to see this.

Nice book and nice web additions.

The next web addition I would love to see is PDF index of all the DH books. Something for the newbie or the intern to compile and keep updated.

Or the return of the Vehicle Apocrypha, in full colour!

I would also love for the adventure contest runner ups to get the same treatment (perhaps onlyB&W) and the winner as well (in colour). But I guess Im just greedy LOL.

Awesome! You once again prove that you at the FFG are THE men to handle DH line.

One question though: what's the name of the artist who did the art on page 7? The one with an Inquisitor standing in some sort of oratorium? I think he did some art for Rogue Trader too, namely on pages 350 and 360. I think that his style fits darkly epic feel of 40k very well, and I'd very much like to see more of his work.

The artist's name is Matt Bradbury, and you will see a lot more of his work in future DH books. :)

I have to sa, I love the quality of all the free PDFs that FFG gives us for DH and RT. It would be great to have a Omnibus released with all the PDFs collected together in one tome, perhaps for direct sale or something.

Again much appreciated Ross.

Now, where are the real Commissars? LOL

The Demagogue looks like a perfect fit for my long-planned Redemptionist cleric rabble-rouser... Yay!
