Should epic/cinematic play get its own subforum?

By Budgernaut, in X-Wing

I'm getting my first huge ship tomorrow and am excited to start building epic squads and playing epic matches. I know there have been several good epic-oriented posts in the past, but they are drowned out by the 100-point-dogfight, fix-this-ship, what's-coming-next-posts. It would be nice to be able to browse some consolidated threads about epic play, cinematic play, and missions.

Do you think this would be useful? Or should we just keep doing our best to use the search function to dig through the main forum?

Would definitely be useful.

It would be nice to push out all the dirty casuals so all of us Pros™ can metabate as a community without interference.

Nah, we're just too high above all your petty whining and need a place to chill out in harmony. ;)

Yes.

You know what we really need? A table.

Yes. A table.

Roughly 6' x 4' with people around it. And plastic ships arrayed about while people roll dice.

PS - I have a hunch I'll be playing epic on the floor tomorrow...

I'm a bit torn. On one hand, you could sticky useful threads. On the other, it means any conversation not in that thread will be able to discount any idea of casual game play. The retort of "this isn't the casual corner, loser" will surely come up. I tend to like these things in the main forum as it can often be read by people whom might never go to the sub forum.

I know the feeling. My home table won't even support standard 3x3 matches, so I'm always playing on the floor.

Oops, restarted the idea a few hours later. Glad I'm not alone, however.

Casuals? Dirty?? You're the one metabating :D

Since I only play casual, I honestly would prefer a venue where all the talk is a little more laid-back. Aggressive tendencies already exist (and will likely not go away), so it would be nice to have a quiet place to post away from all the alpha fighter jocks.

I only play Casual, too, but by creating a sub forum, you exclude yourself from all the conversations instead of participating and adding a different perspective.
