Imperial veterans....remember that one rumor about a veterans exp. That never happened?

selling off your army because the developers arent pumping out constant new ships and/or delaying ones that are coming out?

if it takes that little to distraught you into not playing, dont play. Go away and let the rest of us enjoy the game even as is!

But first, I can take those old space ship models off your hands for a little cash, right? ;)

I would be ok with a release date getting out today.

Yep. That would be...just fine.

Pretty much how i got so many Orks. Sadly theyre still in a sorry state but i have about ~3000USD in Orks and i spent like 800 lol.

That was back when i thought a bad codex just meant it took skill to use. Nope, orks blow unless they abuse forgeworld old rules/typos, then theyre "fine"

If there was someone in my area pissed at FFG and selling his/her ships for cheap i'd probably swipe them as well. Do i need'm? pfft, no. But why would i pass up a bunch of stuff at around 50% off? lol

Gaming companies can't win. Another company I know got big time complaints about missed store dates, whether it was their fault or not. So they started a new policy - don't release any news of future products until they were nearly in stores when delays would be few and small. Great, right?

Well, new complaints fly in at them now because "it's the end of the world" and no new products are being released ever! Tell us something, oh holy line developers! Actually, some of the same people who complained on the forums for that game before were the same that complained about the new policy.

The stores will have the ships when it's time. In the meantime, my wallet recovers from the last wave and I'll be in a better position to celebrate new plastic.

As a certain Jedi once said... "He will learn patience."

Or not...

It is definitely teaching me patience.

Printing out a squad builder and proxys is a lot less to carry around.

I guess there is really no need to buy the expansion after all.

I retract my previous rants and will just buy something else.

You know how companies can win, right? One would be by being in command of your deliverables process (i.e., actually knowing how long it takes to design, manufacture, ship, and distribute your product with a reasonable margin of error), but let's assume that is something they cannot or will not do. What else do they control? The information and promises they make. Don't commit to dates, even quarters; just list them as "Anticipated in Q1," etc. Don't list on your upcoming page time frames that are inaccurate (e.g., "On the boat typically takes 4-6 weeks") and then have it routinely exceed your "typical" ranges. This is really Marketing 101: Under-Promise and Over-Deliver. Give us the previews, give us an "approximate" target for delivery, and don't provide updates without meaningful explanation of delays. I think most of the resentment is due to being told a date that is constantly wrong. Just don't commit to a date you can't hold! It's simple! If my company routinely missed estimates by a month or more, we would be fired off our contracts time and time again. It's not that hard to have project controls and information discipline. It's really not.

I don't know. I'm just wondering if it is possible to have a post about something, anything, TIE Bomber, E-Wing, 4-LOM, etc. and not hear about the Gun Ship. The threads alone has caused me to loose interest.

Much as I hate to say it, it's typical behavior for a monopoly. They're damned confident that we'll buy it whenever it manages to arrive. It's not like we can go to a different supplier. So they say X but don't really care if they hit that target. They probably actually do care if they miss the target, just not enough to get better at choosing those target dates.

And yes, I've preordered 2 boxes and will be thrilled when they arrive. Hell, FFG already has my money for them. :(

I'm definitely getting two of them. For someone like me who doesn't jump up and down over fixes I'll admit that I'm looking forward this this release.

i actually have no intentions to get two imp vets. Running 3 defenders doesnt appeal to me and 4 bombers would be more of a lawlsy list not a legit list (which wouldnt need 2 vets anyway, just 1 more normal kit. Nothing in there thats amazing for bombers unless you want a shuttle)

Wave9 though? Yup, fully intend to get 2 ARCs and 2 TIE/sf lol.

Since Imperial Aces was what, 7 months late, I expect no less for this Imperial release.

I think pre-ordering is great. Save up until you can afford what you want, then order it. You'll have plenty of time between the announcement and actual delivery of an item. Then just forget about it. Go do something more useful, like watching a pot of water boil. Then when the goodies do arrive, you'll be pleasantly surprised. And they'll already be paid for.

I think FFG is waiting on the System Open Series to conclude before releasing them. Lothal is the last on June 25/26 in Germany. So I think it will release the following week. This way all the Opens will be run with the same ships available.

About the only spot I can agree with you there is the estimated date of arrival - but perhaps they did have a reasonable room for error built in and multiple things went wrong. You get surprised sometimes the hassles you get hit with when dealing in China. Quality concerns are common. Delays causing a missed shipping window can add a lot of time even if it was only a day late getting to the docks - boats don't wait. I've personally seen a game delayed because of politics in China - refusing to print a world map of the early 20th century because it had one of their provinces marked as an individual country even if it was accurate for the time period. I know FFG isn't the only one that suffers from this and it's not unique to the gaming industry either. And once you've committed to a factory, changing production companies isn't that easy. The factory often retains ownership of casting tools and masters so you're basically starting from scratch if you pull the trigger.

I cannot defend FFG so don't read too much into my post. I don't know the facts. I will likely never know why things are routinely delayed at the shipping stage. There's no point in allowing this to get under your skin. We're all eager to play with the new toys.

I did a search for how long it takes for a shipping container from China and the average time was 6 weeks and that included the time it takes to get through customs in the US.

It should be here. They are holding it for some reason. What that reason is, is unknown?

This expansion is already in stores in several countries.

In mine since mid-May. Incredible frustrating there are problems with the main release. Honestly I really hope it is not going to continue for long...6 weeks in storage is something unprecedented for our local distribution.

Non-English releases are manufactured later so the fact that we already have our release waiting in storage suggests the English edition suffered from some serious issues.

Perhaps decreased quality or problems with sufficient quantity, which given the rising demand would not be a suprise.

FFG delivery is just incredibly frustrating.

It's been tested. It's too amazing to release.

Well, you seem to have forgotten the distribution to other countries. It's quite a big world and they want a single release date as much as possible.

And who knows, maybe the container got washed away, happens often enough.

probably quantity. Theres no way one crate will supply every store in the US let alone any other country (except the ones that are smaller than Texas).

FFG definitely watches the forums, they may not reply to anything (far as i know) but they watch. They probably see the bazillions of people spouting 3defender lists which require 2 vet boxes and panicked they might not have enough for release and ordered extra.

Which would be comical if that was the reason, since far as i could tell there really isnt any reason to get it unless you play imperials. Not many expansions where if you dont play that faction you never want that kit. Yeah it has a Crackshot but so does a 15USD expansion so...i'd go for the 15USD one if i just wanted crackshot.

I need......and I cannot have......."Noooooooooooooooo!" -Luke

The reason Gunboats won't be a thing because they do not bring anything new to the Imperial faction or the game. Look at Wave 9. Fang is Scum arc dodger. ARC and TIE/sf bring rear arcs to small bases. Shadow caster brings mobile arcs. Gunboat... Nothing new that the punisher or bomber don't already do

I think that's tough to say when we don't have any cards for the Gunboat. Given the neat titles that are being used to make ships behave in unique ways, I can think of a lot of ways they can make the Gunboat different from other ships. For example, a title that lets it put on ion-effects without equipping an ion cannon. That's not something the TIE Punisher or TIE Bomber have. It's a little like the TIE Defender (because it can equip an ion cannon), but you could make them cheaper than TIE Defenders and give Imps some added control elements.

Besides, do you think the ARC-170 title is the only thing the designers could have done with that ship? I don't. It seems to me that they tried to find a way to fit a ship in the game and they did it, rather than hoping a ship will fit a certain need.

But returning to the topic at hand, I am mostly excited for ImpVets to hit because it means my colored bases will be close to arriving!
