My flgs already has them. Can't sell them though. Will they be compensated for storage? Don't think so.
Imperial veterans....remember that one rumor about a veterans exp. That never happened?
what are you talking about guys i got my imperial veterans on 2 june so they siting in my collection for weak now ![]()
Yea...this kind of stuff makes me appreciate how games workshop does things, put it up for pre order out of nowhere when its ready and then release it the following weekend. With X Wing they reveal stuff way way too far ahead of time IMO, after several months of waiting it becomes easy to get distracted with other stuff.
I do plan on getting two SF Ties but thats pretty far off, I don't see much point in even pre ordering them until august at the earliest.
My FLGS has actually stopped taking pre-orders on FFG stuff until they get a confirmed shipping date. They've had half the pre=orders for Imp Vets cancelled due to how long it's been...
Ah so that's why it changed from preorder to click for more info on my frequented virtual game shop. I was hoping to slip in next week and preorder two...
I would be perfectly fine with a release date being announced today.
You are in luck According to Board Game Extras, the official release date for Veterans is the 23rd of June.
As always, pinch of salt until we see something official from FFG themselves but I have a good feeling about this.... ![]()
It honestly is about time... I wasn't overly interested in the expansion but I have been letting people run the titles and pilots for a while now, and it's just not even exciting anymore. It just needs to be out now. People are ready.

If that is true then they will update them to shipping today or tomorrow.
Edited by ramyWants it now!
Well, they did update the status last week. It used to be on the boat, now, the most recent information is... wait, it's on the boat as of the 9th. Oh good. Maybe they got a new boat. One with an engine and crew, maybe.
I agree, I suspect we are over the excitement hump. Now, some people are no longer hot and bothered about them, and may be less likely to buy them now - if they were on the fence before. I, however, am still faithfully waiting, since I like Defenders anyway. But, the coolness is worn down with the long delay. *
*edit: like I'm buying them out of duty rather than "awesome! I can't wait to get my hands on them and rip open the plastic wrap!!"
Edited by TwoDeeSixIt's funny that when the new stuff comes out, the people on the forums have been playing it via proxy or on Vassal for months, but I know half the local guys don't know what the new stuff is. So, I'll have local games with all new stuff, but the forums will be all "yeah, yeah, been playing with this stuff for months. Where's the next wave already?"
Ive been stopping at my local stores with money to spend and I look at the x-wing stuff on the shelf and think......i WANT to buy something. but.....none of this ....i don`t need any more of any of this.
i sometimes pick up a rebel transport and think....well...i dont have this yet...but... i don`t really play rebels and i cant find anyone to do epic with. so...i dont need it after all.
veterans.... i need that.

If you can, then it's a blast! Maybe once Regionals are all over? The campaign is also really good for it.

Likewise.
actually....you know what.....ive never set a raider or gozanti on a table. I have no idea how to drive them.
its rainning today. I think its a perfect time to put on some coffee, some soft music and drive some epic ships around my kitchen to see how they work.

Again, likewise. I hope to change this soon but despite having all the epic ships, I've yet to play a game of epic.
I hear you. I was excited about a sale recently, and I bought some duplicates, for cards and also, maybe I'll want to use a fourth Phantom, so might as well get another one. But, in spite of wanting to be excited, I felt like I had all I needed and then some. Maybe that's good. It's good for my wallet for sure.
The campaigns with each are actually really good at teaching you about the ships in small increments. Even if you lose, you figure something out. I played as Rebels in the first Raider mission and he learned not to overshoot the combat as he couldn't do much once he was past.
I've found that I can find people to play Epic if you announce you want to play ahead of time on whatever social media your local group uses. I've done that and either found people that usually don't show up to game night make it specifically to play epic...or guys who bought epic ships for the upgrades...but actually want to use them will play. There are a lot of people who say, "I can't find anyone to play with them" and yet I never hear them asking. So....letting people know that you want to play is a really good way of finding them.
You could also just set up an Epic game at game night (both sides if you can) and try to look for someone to join in. You can sometimes get new players in that way as it just looks awesome. Try to break each list up into squads that people can jump in and fly for a bit.
BY THE WAY....is there a standard day of the week that FFG usually releases stuff? I'd love for it to be Thursdays.

I just relocated and where I was living previously (CA) was all about the 100-pt tournament format, hoping that I can find a more varied crowd back home in Colorado and finally get some epic in.. I might even get to unwrap and use the Armada stuff i have bought that has been sitting in boxes. Be still my beating heart.

Yes. It's Thursday. And you are living in the Eternal Wednesday.

I believe the next episode of my podcast (releasing tomorrow) is about building the Casual scene locally. Hope it might give some pointers that could help. I think there are a number of people in the same boat as you, but they just need to find each other in the tournament crowd. HotAC is a great way to find other gamers. Right after Regionals is the perfect time.
Good idea. I hit it off pretty well with a local gamer. We have had our games follow a sort of narrative. Last installment was Boba Fett escaping in Slave 1 with frozen Han (rebel captive) with Chewbacca in the Falcon hot in pursuit to rescue Han.
Makes it fun and gives you something to look forward too. And, fun sells more players on the game, who keep it casual, and so forth.
