Blue Frog Repaints

By BlueFrog, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Some more repaints:

Miss Twilek - painted as a reward for tournament swFuytP.png

And this guy here was made for commission - I had problem with making Hounds Tooth looking cool with this theme (it was meant to be inspired by my golden K-Wing), so I decided to add some bits from Warhammer 40k, turned out pretty well :D

Sorry for the long post xD

I need to buy a TIE like that

This is a commission piece she just completed for me. Can't wait to get it! She has some amazing talent.

what brush do you use for the pinups and detail lines? i can barely paint a twi'lek shape on a ship, let alone outline it, also those gradients are jaw dropping

Thank you, painting that A-Wing was a pleasure! :D

I use synthetic brushes from polish manufacturer (Mag-Pol), usually size 00, sometimes 000.

That is so well done, but creepy as hell.

Holy ****! I can't get over how f....ing amazing these repaints are!! :o

That's such a crazy good paint scheme! Well done BlueFrog. On a design like this, where do you get your inspiration for the subject matter? I mean calling TIEs eye-balls isn't new, but adding tentacles? I wouldn't have considered that.

Makes me think that this ship is only flown by the Empire during air shows and used for promotion & recruitment.

For funky repaints I usually have my own ideas and inspirations, but sometimes (like with this repaint) my customer starts topic and we work together on the concept. For this repaint he send me photo of Beholder Monster from D&D as an inspiration and then my task was to interpret it and paint it in a way that would work with Tie Defender design.

Here is another example of me working with my clients idea:

Ha ha those are awesome! People have some crazy ideas.

Technical skills come with time and practice, but unlike the rest of us, one talent that you seem to have in abundance is that special ability to translate someone's idea onto this unusual canvas.

Good Zod you make me feel unworthy to pick up a brush

Your stuff just keeps getting better and better. And I will never ever stop being jealous of your freehand skills.

That one is seriously cool!

And yes, like others I feel unworthy when I compare my work to these :)

Between you, Gadge and Macross I'm going to pack my paints and go back to making ashtrays out of Play-Do!

This is some absolutely beautiful work. Envious I am.

That jumpmaster is insanely good... I love the idea but even more so I love the execution! Everything just... fits :) beautiful beautiful work. Everytime I see your work I immediately take my paints out and start using the fresh inspiration. Though my end results do not compare to yours of course ;) but hey, it's a learning process!

If I had that Defender, I'd be more worried about pokes than bumps! :D

Your work is absolutely STUNNING and inspirational. I have no other words...just please, please update frequently. :D

Wowowow thanks! Let's be jealous together - I envy your modelling skills, they are mad :D

For me it's all about creativity and making some crazy ideas alive. I'm happy when I can inspire people to paint - seriously, is there anything greater than creating things with you own hands? :P And with each try we all get better and better, so there is no cons in trying to do something cool ^_^

Thank you guys for every good word :)

Absolutely beautiful! Nothing like a little Pin-Up action from a long, long time ago to energize the pilots!
