A Good Idea for the T-65 Title?

By BlueMusketeer28, in X-Wing

Rogue Squadron flew many different types of missions, and needed to be ready to adapt in a moments notice. They chose the X-Wing as their primary ship, because it was versatile enough to handle their diverse mission profile. Even so, for many missions the Rogues made their own modifications, to match their style of flying, or the mission profile.

Rogue Squadron X-Wing

You may equip 2 modification cards, treat the cost of one of these modifications as -2 (minimum 0).

Everyone here has debated new rules and lots of fancy stuff to fix the T-65. With a title like this, the X-Wing becomes whatever you want it to be. Integrated Astromech becomes an auto-take without penalty, unless you want a hyper mobile ship with boost and barrel roll, or for 4 points you can become competitive in the turret meta with Engines and Autothrusters. The X-Wing becomes the personal fighter of each player, and more than strong enough to compete.

At this point FFG probably already know what they're going to do.

Agreed, I just think this is a good way. Nice parallel to the RGT too.

Well they certainly have title room, since the X-wing has none. It should be an easy fix. I thinking a new X-wing t-65 will be release with Rogue trader pilots, and the Title Rogue Squadron Pilot.

Something like:

Rogue Squadron Pilot:

1 pt

Title : Xwing t-65 only

Add Barrel roll to your ship

or

Heavy X-wing Fighter

0 pt

Title X-wing t-65 only

Any ordnance carried count as having Extra Munitions.

I think integrated astromech is subtle, but powerful. It's definitely better than I or most people thought it would be. I do think that another title could make things interesting, since many people still don't believe int. astro was enough. The question really is, what is enough? By the sounds of things, people want a ship with no weaknesses? That's not the game at all. You have to know how to fly your ships accordingly. Take Soontir for example. I often read about how he's a beast, but also that he's easy to beat just by blocking him or stressing him. Which is it? Well, it depends how you fly him!

Your title won't work unless they release an X-Wing T-65.

If you want to limit it to the X-Wing, while excluding the T-70, you will have to refer to the subfactions.

Also, adding boost, barrel roll, room for autothrusters or decreasing cost somewhat lack in imagination, whereas FFG has shown to be very imaginitve with their fixes.

True. They could say X-wing only (NOT T-70) :)

Here's my two cents. (Not that anyone asked)

Easy and Thematic. Two titles:

Rogue Leader (Unique)

T-65 only

2 points

Ships with the "Rogue Squadron" Upgrade card may share your pilot ability (in addition to their own pilot ability)

Your pilot skill must be 6 or higher to equip this card.

Rogue Squadron

T-65 (and E-wing) only

0 points

You may use the pilot ability of the ship equipped with the Rogue Leader upgrade card. (in addition to your own pilot ability)

Your printed pilot ability must be 4 or lower to equip this card

Basically it avoids the Biggs Effect (even with adaptability) but make the ships a unique squad true to their book form. and help bring back the generics/ e-wings not named corran.

You would need to make Rouge Leader work only on x-wings with PS 8 or higher since both Wedge and Luke were Rouge Leader.
