Just drop the bomb

By JimbonX, in X-Wing

Sad that it's not possible to drop 2 bombs from same ship in one round. Would be more fun to play with bombs then. I mean, how often do you se bombs drop in tournament or even in casual? Almost never. I just want to drop the bomb.

No-one is stopping you from dropping two bombs in casual games - just agree to a house rule beforehand.

I see bombs quite regularly on the table, both in competitive play and in casual play.

A buddy of mine likes to play a bomber list with Sabine, while another friend often puts seismic charges on his Firespray to keep pursuing aces honest. And I usually see a conner net in every tournament.

Mara jade plus bomb. Any movement inhibitor plus bombs (with more possible inhibitors in the bombs thenselves) can be great. When you attach stress to the plastic, you apply stress to the pilot. It can disrupt, and that's never a bad thing. Pooping a seismic charge on more than three ships can cast enough of a dark cloud on your opponent that you can more easily press the advantage gained by your movement denial actions.

Bombs: just poop it.

I had a k-wing doing this for a while at the FLGS until somebody noticed the rule that says you cant do that. It's actually a little bit ridiculous with the combinations of say, conner nets and cluster bombs, being my favorite against palp aces.

I won a store championship with a bomb squad (2 K and 1 Y) pre wave 8, so no Sabine. In the final game, I faced a double named K-Wing list, also sporting bombs, so I don't share your assertion that bombs are nowhere. What are you waiting for? Try it out.

I got 4th at a Store Championship with a 4 x Tie Bomber list. The best was when I was able to kill an Outrider in one turn. He landed on 4 Seismic Charges and then 2 Missiles finished him off. That was before Guidance Chips.

I also killed a 5 x Alpha Interceptor list. He surrounded me, I dropped bombs, K-turned, and fired missiles at what was left. The game was over in 5 turns.

did win a store championship due to complete and utter dominance of palp aces (always followed by brobots), which get completely and utterly dominated by conner nets

it's an annoying little rule, because Deathrain with a double bomb drop would just be pure sexiness, but eh it doesn't make auto-damage any less valuable

i almost always have a seismic charge sitting around somewhere. Some games it doesnt get used, others it causes a hell of a lot of damage. Cheap too and no action.

You can always drop the F-bomb before or after you drop your bomb ;)
