Do you barrel roll before or after you do the maneuver?

As the card says: when you reveal your maneuver. Which, btw, refers to the maneuver wheel.

Here is the order:

Reveal maneuver on dial > Barrel roll with BB8 > complete maneuver on dial

BB8s effect is resolved before you complete the revealed move.

Which means you can trigger PtL with BB-8's barrel roll action, perform a second action then perform a green maneuver and get rid of the stress from PtL.

And which means that if you start the turn stressed, you can't do the free barrel roll action, even though you're about to clear that stress with the green maneuver you just revealed.

Are we sure about that? The card simply says "when you reveal a green maneuver". It doesn't say anything about being stressed. Now, by being stressed, you are not allowed an action, but the free barrel roll granted by BB-8 is just a triggered card effect and not an action at all. So you can still do it, as long as maneuver is green.

There is a magic word "action" on BB8. Now cross reference that with stress

Which means you can trigger PtL with BB-8's barrel roll action, perform a second action then perform a green maneuver and get rid of the stress from PtL.

And THEN, you STILL get your standard action for the turn! Three actions, powerful positioning, modified attack, no stress.

To be fair, one of the squad builders has the text wrong for BB-8, it doesn't have the word action on it. I know that trips some people up.

One should never trust a squad building app as a source of reference. There's too many out there with mistakes or missing key words.

Quick point on BB8 that I noticed the other day- When using the Squadron Benchmark web app, it gives you the option to do the BR pre or post maneuver, which is incorrect.

If using that program, ensure you're using it properly so as not to get into any bad habits.
