Special Forces TIE

By ThisIsDavin, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Yeah, I know... it's a bit early so this will be mostly left to interpretation before an official FAQ, but how does the community expect "Quickdraw" to work if using the "Special Ops Training" title?

Quickdraw: Once per round, when you lose a shield token you may perform a primary weapon attack

SpecOps: When attacking with a primary weapon from your primary firing arc, you may roll 1 an additional attack die. If you do not, you may perform an additional attack from your auxillary firing arc.

I'm still not that big on the rules regarding how many times you are allowed to attack in a round etc, but would this mean you could:

- Attack (first with PS9) not electing an additional die

- Attack again using auxillary arc.

Then in the same combat phase, you defend and lose a shield triggering:

- Attack again for the once per round trigger and not elect to roll an additional die

- and then Attack again using auxillary arc??

That looks correct.

That's exactly how it will work. It makes me think that a lot of builds might involve taking a shield upgrade to try and get the ability to proc more often.

There's talk of pre-activation phase shooting by using baffle/purposefully getting hit by bombs/obstacles too, though wondering if that will get FAQd

That's hellishly expensive on a ship that'll maybe get two turns of shooting.

It's one of those ships where you accept it's death run it lean and hope it gets its points back.

Nice to see people seeing the possibility and not the negative

Is there any core rule regarding "can only perform one attack against each ship per round" ? or can you repeat fire against a ship you already have shot at? (I'm thinking it will have already been dis/allowed with Double Tap Corran)

No, you can attack the same target during the round as long as you can still make attacks. So a ship that has multiple attacks can concentrate on one target ship until is it destroyed if you want it to.

There is nothing in the rules that forbids you from shooting outside combat phase, as long as something allows you to. (corran says hello)

6HP on 2 greens and with 9ps? Well thats not THAT easy to shoot down.

Not to mention the system and tech upgrades that haven't fully been unveiled yet. It looks like one might grant a bonus for purposefully barrel rolling onto a rock and the other is a defensive upgrade of some kind (spend something to change something). ..

Question on Special Ops Training + Accuracy Corrector. If a TIE-sf equipped with both fires from the forward and aft arc, does the AC apply to both shots?

Each attack counts as a separate attack, and as such, Accuracy Corrector can be used on each attack.
