Defence tokens VS Crits

By Kiwi Rat, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

This has proberly been asked before ;)

But do a spend defence token's effect take precedence over a Crit effect that might remove or exhaust it???

Had a situation yesterday where after I had spend my redirect, I got a crit that said I had to choose and discard one defence token.

So I would like to know if my spend redirect would still have effect despite I had to remove it?

Follow the Steps:

Attacker Rolls Dice.

Attacker Modifies Dice

(including Spending ACCs to prevent Defence Tokens)

Defender Spends Defense Tokens .
(Once they are Spent, they are spent. Active. Done. Done for. Even if they don't actually RESOLVE until later. Evade and Scatter resolve immediately)

Attacker Resolves Critical Effect.

(Contain resolves here)

Attacker Totals Damage
(Brace Resolves here)

Attacker Deals Damage 1 Point at a Time.

(Redirect resolves here)

Yes.

Great recap of this item..

I was just reconsidering APTs, Overload pulses and NK7s and trying to get the sequence clear. Very logical in the above.

Just checking to be sure, but I think i have it good: say I field a Dodonna's Pride, and I'm shooting a Gozanti. I crit (effect says: cancel all attack dice to deal a faceup damage), he scatters = no faceup damage, correct?

Right, scatter would take effect before you resolve Dodonna's Pride. Redirect and brace effect the damage total after the critical effect is resolved, so do not have any effect. Contain only works on the standard critical effect and can't help with Dodonna's Pride
