Somehow Maul has become to canon what Revan was to Legends as of TOR; that is, a character surviving well past the realm of plausibility due to fan appeal.
What you mean with Legends, Bane is canon and the latest Rebels episode with our little old Master just picked up a Holocron on Malachor V. Female Revan seems like almost canon too. Season 3 will most likely tell us if Revan was already in Rebels or not.

Its Old Teacher, but Maul could've simply chosen a new title. He was shown in a hangar that had a Mando fighter docked with it.

And Shara Bey has an A-Wing. Doesn't seem to affect the direction of our game.
I doubt they'd put an iconic character like Maul on a random PS6 ship without even explicitly naming him.

My thought for Mandos was that you could do the Fang on a small base, the (?)Aka'Jor shuttle (the Death Watch use it in Clone wars in one or two episodes, about twice the size of the Fang, the wings pivot to vertical for landing because Star Wars shittle ALL have impractically long wing-swivels during their landing procedures) on a large base, and the Kom'rk as an Epic ship.
There was a teaser clip from season 3 of Rebels with Maul in it released at SWCE. At the start of the clip there was a shot of hangar bay the ghost lands in that also had a Fang fighter. Then Kannan and Ezra meet Maul who refers to Ezra as his apprentice. Old Teacher being Maul in a Fang fighter sound more likely all the time. But then... Baileys....
