In short the T-65 is 1-2 points overcost without an ablity to make up for the difference. When you compare it against every other Rebel Ship you find it lacking. Also every other ship at this point for rebels (except e-wing/ty-2400) has gotten something to help it stay competitive in both causal and torny play, the 65 needs this. Ether extra movement or an upgrade to reduce points of upgrades.
Without something the 65 is not going to see much action past a new player opening an older core set.
Wave 9 has a modifcation of Vector Thrusters. Add barrel roll to your action bar, small ship only. That will give people who say they don't want Integrated Astros, but instead want movement options. Plus I believe in the Resistance pack there is a mod called Proton Thrusters, which is a mod and probably adds boost to an X-wing as well. Yes they could have fixed it with a title, but now they allow people to build their x-wings the way they want it, boost, barrel roll, or IA.
Maybe Wedge sees the light of day but even he is a hard sell (exception ps9 builds but new Poe might steal this spot) these days when the T-70 has a much better movement set for the points.
It's not competitive outside of game-breaking pilot abilities like Biggs.
Because it does
With the exception of a couple of pilots its point cost /dial/stats/joust value are becoming over shadowed by other ships that get more value for their points
No boost, no barrel roll, only two actions, no evade, two green dice, 5 hp for 21 pts base cost you at ps2 there are just better options currently out there
Pilots I think that still have a place
Biggs is top of the list
Wedge with PTL and bb8 is nasty
Wes can be nasty is his own way
Tarn with r7 imo is still a good closer ship
It's not able to compete in high level tournament play. It's great in Missions and Epic, though.

Not if you put Predator(or PTL) and BB-8 on Wedge.

I want to see a title that drops the cost of Driod and a second that drops the cost of torps as it looks like we are getting free movement with the mod, I am concerned that it is going to cost too many points for the ablity.
Rookie t-65 is 21 points / Blue Sqaud with boost and an extra shield is 24. If the roll is 2 or 3 points I am not sure why I would take a 65 over a 70 for 1 point. The movement dial for the 70 has the loop which is better then a k-turn for surprising and positioning.
Personally a barrel roll is good but it's not enough to make the T-65 a go to ship.
That time of the week already?
You do realize with the upcoming Rogue one movie that we'll very likely get a Rogue one title
Probably reduce its cost by 1 and will give added bonus for each friendly ship with a specific range that had the title equipped.
They'll probably include 1 Maybe two so you'll want to buy 2-3 more expansions just for the title
Also just a thought a lot of people want to see the T-65 be better because it's the ship the game is named after, it's the ship that means a lot to us nerds and most non Star Wars people can tell you what it is. I believe more then the Falcon it is loved, I think a lot of us dreamed about being at the Death Star or landing at cloud city, we dream of taking off on an adventure and exploring space. I think in our hearts if we could have a Death Star size board we all would recreated the trench run and use Luke as a way to relive our childhood dreams. I know I am crazy for loving the 65 more then the falcon and I want it to be the first ship as a go to and not the last.
I think the attachment people have for the 65 is what makes us demand it to be better and we want Luke to have a different ablity.
Edited by CubanboyJust compare it to newer ships with similar stats lines...
Either it has less hitpoints, fewer actions, worse options for upgrades, costs about the same, has less firing arcs (W9) or several of them combined.
The only thing that makes it playable are the rather unique pilot skills of some of them and the integrated that it already got (so any modification like the barrel roll leads to giving up a recently implemented help).
On top of that jousters do have a lot of troubles since the latest waves like, strong turrets, ordnance, arc dodgers.

Why would Proton Thrusters give boost? I highly doubt that it will, the reason being is that the card Proto Thrusters is being released in a set that has the T-70 which has boost already....oh and you are also forgetting that we already have boost on a card, its called ENGINE UPGRADE!

Exactly we want to see x-wing's as often as we see EU and new trilogy fighters.
Most of us have 3+ and would really like them to stop gathering dust on the shelf.

In my opinion it is one of the coolest ships in Star Wars, and that it doesn't need to be fixed it is still a great ship in the game. Whenever I fly Rebels, I usually put 1-2 T-65s in because of how good they are.

For only 34 points you can be 1/5 as maneuverable as Fel.

No ship is as maneuverable as Fel.

I'm sorry to say but your opinion is simply wrong. It's not a great ship, and that's not a matter of opinion. It's backed up by both the math and years of tournament reports. This is quite frankly not subject to debate or opinion any more than saying 2+2=5.
With Integrated Astro, it becomes a good ship, but is still not a top end ship in the competitive world.

I have play tested 5 rookies saying they are 20 points each, this list is really tough to deal with. 1 point makes a huge difference per ship.

Tell that to all of the Scum Y-wings, Scum Headhunters, Scum Large ships, and Imperial Ships I have destroyed with the T-65.
It's been covered but even with Integrated Astromech and a 1 point astro, the X-wing is still mathematically inferior to the B-wing(and how many of those do you see hitting the table lately?), with fewer options for customizing.

BB-8 + PTL Wedge has other problems in this regard though. the X-wing only has 4 green maneuvers to trigger BB-8/Clear stress, and they're often not the move you're going to have wanted to make. PTL is also mostly a dead card if you're not triggering it off of BB-8 for the same reason, if you use it on a turn where you didn't combo it with BB-8, you can't BB-8 of your green to clear it the following turn, so you're at least 2 turns out from double action again assuming you're taking those green moves. At the point where you add Engine Upgrade to help with those turning issues, sacrificing whatever defensive bonus Integrated grants, Wedge is now 38 points and with the high attack power going around today his X-wing may as well be made of a paper bag.

Noone claimed that it is impossible to win with the T65. But there goes a lot into who wins a game. From beeing a better player over having more luck to getting a favorable matchup all of which have nothing to do with how wel the T65 compares to similar ships in the game.

I've destroyed nearly every ship by flying it through an asteroid at one point in time or other. It doesn't mean asteroids are competitive ships.

Anyone can win with almost any ship. But that doesn't change the fact that the ship is subpar. It quite simply costs too much for what it offers, especially in a standard tournament game. That doesn't mean you can't overcome the shortfall, but just because you can do that, doesn't mean there isn't an issue.
Again, the math behind the game shows that the X-Wing is over priced. The fact that it rarely shows up in top tables of major tournaments shows this. The fact that the game's Developers have agreed it needs help shows this as well.
