Non Hero Rebel Characters and Strain

By Payens81, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hello everyone,

So I am sure this is in the rules I just can't find it.

But when the Heros are controlling a non hero character since they do not get strain what happens if something applies strain to them? does it go straight to damage? or does it do nothing?

And if that is the case can you put a bleed on a non player character. We were doing Twin Shadows and we were having a debate if the IA player could put a bleed on R2 D2.

Strain becomes damage to figures in a campaign that are not heroes.

"Strain", RRG, Page 23:

Strain in a Campaign

When a hero suffers (Strain), place an equal number of strain tokens on his Hero sheet. When any other figure suffers (Strain), it suffers an equal amount of (damage) instead.

Think of it in terms of them having an Endurance score of 0. Heroes gain strain until they reach the Endurance score, then take damage until the number of strain tokens is less then the Endurance Score. So if the non-hero has an Endurance score of 0 all strain added is taken as damage. I think the section Fizz quoted contains that example as well, or I may have read it from a FAQ or in a forum.

Non-heroes have no endurance. (It is specifically not 0, it does not exist.)

Allies can choose to suffer strain for Prey Upon Doubt (converted to damage), while if they had an endurance of 0, they could not.

And yes, all figures can have Bleeding , Stunned , and any other condition. Think of it as fluids or other important things leaking out.
