Books and Comic books finally getting into the game!

A Volt Cobra, please.

Sana Starros has been a huge part of the Star Wars comic and I fully expect to see her and her ship show up in X-wing.

The Darth Vader and Star Wars comics have been providing lots of great new characters and ships! I'm personally hoping to see a Dr. Aphra set soon. The "Ark Angel" with Bee-Tee and Triple-Zero crew cards!

From the most recent issue of Poe Dameron.

It's too bad the art is so bad cause there is a ton of **** in this image. I think there might even be a Missile Boat in the upper left there.

Sweet starfighter collection. Terex is my kind of dude.

Yeah, that last page of Poe was the Ugliest heaven I've ever seen. :D

I definitely see the Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing in there. And that makes in CANON!

Sold. Who do I need to fondle to make that happen?

I seem to be blind, I don't see it.

The galaxy is a big place ... yet it feels that everyone we see is directly related somehow. Is there a character that isn't the father, mother, brother, sister, room mate, partner, etc. to someone else?

Challenge, our planet has 6-7 billion people on it. Go and high 5 a thousand randoms .. chance of a relationship between them??

It's called good genes, and parents teaching their skills to their children. Happens all the time.

Archie Manning = NFL quarterback

Had three sons, two of which are superbowl winning quarterbacks.

Del Curry = NBA player

Had two sons, both who are NBA basketball players

Mario Andretti and Michael Andretti

Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr.

Bobby Bonds and Barry Bonds

Or Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds both being actresses.

Or Nicolas Cage and his uncle Francis Ford Coppola.

They're not selecting from a massive pool here; it's a case of people who supported the Rebellion and were also rebellious enough to move to the Resistance when the Republic wasn't active enough against the First Order. Child of a famous Rebel pilot seems reasonable.

Looks like somebody had a deadline coming up in 5 minutes but still had one more page to do. That could qualify as a rough draft, but a finished piece ready for publication? Art is subjective and all that, but come on.

Why not? Rob Leifeld was working constantly, and he draws mutant goat hoofed, shark toothed people with the anatomical shoulder structure of Joeseph Merrick - with a fetish for pouches.

Shara as an A-wing pilot isn't nearly so exciting. She can give her TL to anyone around her. Meh.

For those who haven't read Shattered Empire, Shara's pilot ability has absolutley zero thematic base. I get it, gameplay before fluff, but new A-wings or an N-1 expansion would be a great opportunity to unleash the awesome pilot we saw in the comic.

Indeed. Bizarre art is certainly nothing new for comics. It just sucks for US in this instance because we'd all like to be able to identify every ship in this collection, but simply can't due to the art.

Though from the story, he's going to be using them to go after Poe, so hopefully we'll get to see some of them in more detail next issue.

Ciena will be coming to Armada , likely as a commander.

She's a TIE Interceptor pilot in the Correlian Conflict Armada campaign :) https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/7/22/the-corellian-conflict/

Hopefully we'll get her in a X-wing (even more hopefully a campaign)... one of my favourite characters in that book.

...why would we ever get her in an x-wing? She was 100% an imperial pilot. If we saw her it'd most likely be as an Interceptor pilot, same as armada.

Bottom left looks like a Z-95 or X-wing with backwards guns. In a previous issue Terex built an Ugly with an AT-AT cockpit, but I don't see it in his fleet.

Right above the speech bubble!

This will be in either Wave 11 or Wave 12. I'm calling it now, although being vague.

YMMV but I throw up a little bit every time I see this thing.

Edit: It looks like a Firespray mated with a Gungan Bongo boat and sprouted cannon cancer.

But at least his compositions, from what I've seen (though I can't say I've read any of the comics he's drawn for that I know of), looked like finished products, not rough sketches of half-realized shapes and lines that should intersect but don't with sloppy color fill. Just take a look at the TIE Bomber and the TIE Fighter under it. They're just so wrong. Not to mention how unrecognizable a lot of the other ships are.

Back on topic, I'm all for pulling from every source available to give us ships for X-Wing, and I much prefer pilot abilities that are more thematic than not. I also don't think they need to restrict named pilots to having an ability. What if a unique pilot didn't have an ability, but their upgrade bar was different, or their actions? Yes, I suppose you could do that via their ability, but it's an area that can be explored.

There isn't anything interesting to add from the new canon books though.

Yes, but...

You're a fanboy. Your emotions deceive you, don't trust them.

Drawing objects with increasingly less detail the farther away they are is standard. Like, bog-standard. Every artist does this because our eyes aren't binoculars and we see less detail the farther away something is. If you're a regular comic book or manga reader, this technique is something that you've seen dozens if not hundreds of times before.

It's just that, this one time, it's triggered your Fanboy Sense because it's something you're a fanboy about , dying to know if the Missile Boat/Gunboat is actually canon . So the indignation you feel is caused not by the artist's lack of ability (which is perfectly fine, you do get a sense for how immense that room is thanks to the executed perspective), but by your own sense of nerd rage.

Don't give in to the Dork Side. A true Fanboy is calm, at peace. He flows with the canon.

EDIT: Though that backwards Z-95 is giving me a case of WTFs.

Seems like a lot of those ships are probably Uglies. As that's something Terex does.

I only just today finally finished collecting all of the original Dark Horse Star Wars Omnibus series of comics. It has taken me 3yrs to find all the orignal prints. And it looks like Dark Horse is releasing reprints. I can't keep up with the new Disney stuff.
