ARC-170 Pilots

By Crabbok, in X-Wing

the ARC-170 pilots all seem to be from comics / Books as far as I can tell.

Lot of Mom's here. Mother's Day expansion perhaps? har har! So we've got :

PS7 Norra Wexley from the Book Aftermath (Snap's Mom)

Ps6 Shara Bey from the Shattered Empire comics (Poe's Mom)

PS5 Thane from the Lost Stars book.

Ps3 Grayle*****?

I can't figure out who the PS3 pilot is. Anyone know?

And BTW Shara Bey is going to rock! Give her Weapon's Engineer and R7-T1! She can boost past you, get 2 Target Locks, then fire at you from rear arc, AND support the rest of ships with her target lock sharing! Very cool!

The pilots are interesting choices. I feel like these were pilots they wanted to include, but didn't have another expansion to put them itn.

Norra: Flies a Y-Wing

Shara: Flies an A-Wing

Thane: Flies and X-Wing.

Obviously there aren't any of those ships coming out soon so they just put these guys in the old junker.

I do like though that there aren't any generics. Lends to the idea that this is an old ship that only a handful of people use anymore.

I agree... It seems odd to throw these pilots in the ARC. If/when we get a rebel veterans it would have made more sense introduce a few new pilots spread out over a few of our ships including these three. I'm pretty excited though.

Makes you wonder where Ciena (sp?) Is going to end up....

In Armada. FFG said on twitter that she was for Armada.

Braylen Stramm

Braylen Stramm was a B-Wing pilot in Blade squadron .... its kind of canon as part 1 came out before the new EU and part 2 after making it the first new canon but only kind of 50% :)

Blade Squadron story is canon.

Ciena is already confirmed to be coming with a future expansion for Armada.

Maybe these cards will be double sided, with the same pilot in their canon ship on the reverse? Since we have A,Y,X and B wing pilots all together it would make sense and they have started doing double sided cards. Oh man I've totally nailed it. Definitely what's happening.

That would be really cool.

I'm still hoping for a Rebel Veterans expansion with Norra Wexley in her Y-Wing. FFG did include Maarek Stele in Imperial Veterans, after all.

I would love to see that

I wouldn't bet on them appearing in their canon ships. Same thing happened with Corran Horn being in an E-Wing, and he still doesn't have an X-Wing version. I think FFG just realized the ARC-170 was a neat opportunity to include some of the new Rebel characters whose ships probably aren't getting released again any time soon, since there aren't many other options for Rebel ARC-170 pilots.

Besides, there's no reason to believe these pilots only flew one kind of ship. :P

Yeah. Might as well assume They few the ARC before they flew the other ships. Worked their way up.

RogueLieutenant makes a perfect point here, they could have flown ARCs salvaged from planetary defense/militia armories before the rebels contacted them and gave them 'real' fighters to fly.

Personally I'm rather disappointed at the lack of a generic 'Rebel Sympathizer' or 'Rebel Novice' or such pilot, but I can see how having such a tanky ship as a PS1-2 generic could be a bad thing too.
