So it turns out that Spider Warlock stole those so called vorpal blades from their former owner who naturally had them cursed should they be stolen.

Of course they can pass them on to someone willing to accept but given they're cursed and anybody else would recognise this except they did help free the former gladiator so it's former Hutt owner will be wanting a word with them anyway...
