All wave 8 + all Empire

By Han Silo, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've just been throwing around some ideas for an all Wave 8 Empire list that could be both a good, if maybe not competitive, list and also look cool on the table. This is what I've come up with -

Tie advanced prototype - Inquisitor + Title + Push the limit + Auto thrusters + Proton rockets = 34pts

Tie/fo - Omega leader + Juke + Com Relay = 26pts

Tie/fo - Zeta leader + Wired + Com Relay + Twin ion engine mk 2 = 25pts

Tie/fo - Epsilon squad pilot = 15pts

I like the idea of this squad, the Epsilon pilot plows forward and blocks to set up the shot for Omega and Zeta while the Inquisitor flanks, trying to hang out at range 3 unless the opportunity appears that lets him arc dodge to range 1 and let off the prockets. Then just keep the Inquisitor and Omega alive for the end game...

Pretty simple strategy but I've found that the simple plans are the least likely to get screwed up by the other guy not doing what he's supposed to.

Any changes? Could maybe swap out the prockets and the com relay on Zeta to free up some points

Quad TAPs are fun. Really great dial. I also did okay with it and I suck so I imagine it's a decent list.

So I flew the squad against my friends Brobot list and my guys did well.

I won the only game we played ending with the Inquisitor and Omega leader still on the table.

Difficult to really say if this is a great squad after just one game but I get the feeling that it has real potential. The Tie/fo's were a joy to fly with all three proving their worth. And the Iquisitor, with all his speed one green turns and banks, is a close range beast. The Proton rockets got popped in the first round of shooting and stripped all the shields from the first Brobot straight away, opening it up for the others to finish it off.

All in all a sweet list, I'll be trying it again
