Rebel Commandos? The heroes are the Rebel Commandos! ![]()
What will the Next Expansion Be?
Rebel Commandos? The heroes are the Rebel Commandos!
That's true. We could have a new player character who's just some unnamed commando from the attack on the shield generator.

With the new hide ability, I'm pretty sure we'll get Rebel Commando two-pack at some point for support of the heroes.

Personally, I hope we get a surgically-enhanced Ewok named Yub-Yub who has joined the Rebellion to seek recompense from his former Galactic Empire captors. ![]()

Nah, I reckon it'll be in the Endor big box, and if you want more you have to buy another big box. Seems to be how it goes in this game.

And his ability would be he removes a defence die from the target of his attack, reflecting the fact that Stormey's advanced technology did nothing to protect them from Ewok arrows and rocks?
He also instils fear in his opponents, who are afraid he'll eat them.

Not for Allies. Imperial/Mercenary groups usually show up in boxed expansions. Rebel trooper groups have always been Ally packs.

Ah yeah, good point.

Maybe it's just me, but I was never under the impression that the Ewoks were attacked/ enslaved by the Empire. If they had been the Empire would have expected and been prepared for an attack by the savage, unlovable, man-eating teddy bears! I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM! Sorry, sometimes I get a little worked up about them. Why didn't Lucas give us Wookiees? They would have been a worthwhile ally for the Rebels!
It's true. The change from Wookiees to teddy bears was not one of his best decisions, but then, it was the beginning of a string of bad decisions. I hated them going back to 1983, but Lucas knew marketing, and he knew he'd make a scheisse-ton of cash by using them. Star Wars was at is best before it started targeting demographics.

Yeah, I totally made it up. Still want a playable Ewok hero, though I understand if it's not everyone's bag (just like my want for a Jawa hero). ![]()

I would always play the Ewok or the Jawa. Even if they were terrible.

Jawa's I'm more into. I honestly with they would have had jawas instead of tuskens in Twin Shadows. I have found the tuskens to be quite underwhelming.
I would love to paint Jawas. I don't think they realistically do much, but then, neither to ugnaughts and they are in the game. So i would have had Jawa doing the ugnaught.

I'm not a big fan of Ewoks roll in the film, but I like them aesthetitically. I don't have a problem with any species from the films (or other sources) being in the game, regardless of how cool or likeable etc they were in the source material. I'd happily play with some Gungans for example. I'd quite like a Gungan Imperial officer type figure, or even some sort of dark side figure, that could be cool.
Speaking of other races in the Empire - in this game the Empire seems quite racist, it's so full of humans, which I assume is because that's how it appeared in the films, but in the prequels Palpatine had non-human advisors. Wonder how racist he really was. What species was Plagueis?
The whole xenophobia thing was invented by Zahn, in my humble opinion. It is based on nothing. George Lucas was making a medium budget adventure show and the Nazi allegory of the Empire, along with their uniforms is hard to ignore, but really it was because they hired a bunch of white British actors to be extras, and fans have run with it, virtually making it canon, that the Empire hates aliens. This goes back 4000 years apparently because it is a staple of the Sith Empire in KOTOR and SWTOR.

There really shouldn't be any connection between the empire in SWTOR and in the OT (which was directly formed from the republic).
I still think they are gonna make a box with jabba's palace and endor. both dont need alot of set piece locations so why not combine them.
Obi Wan, Inquisitor, and Greedo Q3 make me think we'll be seeing a Rebels/Rogue One era big box in Q4, likely releasing right around the movie.
I'm not sure they will copy the movie or show exactly but it makes the most sense to turn back the clock and get an expansion out there for time periods 1/2 that can make use of those figures in campaign ASAP.
Hadn't quite dawned on me that you wouldn't be able to use Obi-Wan and Greedo in the base campaign... at least presumably. But of course, the current campaigns are all set after a New Hope.
I don't see the inquisitor bein so limited. I wouldn't be surprised if he can be used to represent some generic inquisitor, like the Royal Guard Champion, for example. He also isn't named.

It's really the other way around. As far as we can tell, there are no time periods on their missions, so presumably they can be used in any campaign.
After New Hope Obi Wan is played as a ghost. You don't see it in the films, but ghost Obi Wan can actually physically interact with the real world, and fights like he did in the prequels. That's what he meant about being more powerful than you cold possibly imagine, it wasn't anything deep.

Have you played SWTOR? I call it OT in everything but name. Yes, the Republic has the stormtrooper esque looking troopers, but everything else about the Sith Empire is clearly cribed from the OT empire, with just more Sith running around.

Extensively. What I'm saying is that any similarity is, from a lore perspective (from a real world perspective they clearly wanted to make them similar), purely coincidental.

The Sith Empire at the time of the Jedi Civil War was more similar to the First Order than the Empire, if you ask me. It was an Empire wannabe, but wasn't in control. It was also led by a very angry, insecure man in the form of Darth Malek, who wasn't as calm and self confident as Darth Sidius (or Snoke - in fact Malek reminds me more of Ren (with a bit of Hux thrown in), albeit somewhat wiser, more experienced, but still without the vision of his master).
