What will the Next Expansion Be?

By Felswrath, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

The whole xenophobia thing was invented by Zahn, in my humble opinion. It is based on nothing. George Lucas was making a medium budget adventure show and the Nazi allegory of the Empire, along with their uniforms is hard to ignore, but really it was because they hired a bunch of white British actors to be extras, and fans have run with it, virtually making it canon, that the Empire hates aliens. This goes back 4000 years apparently because it is a staple of the Sith Empire in KOTOR and SWTOR.

Thats a poor excuse to dismiss the Empire's xenophobia. There were many humanoid aliens in A New Hope and Return of the Jedi. Yet, not once did we see a Sullustan or Rodian working for the Empire. The only alien roles we saw were them as mercs like Garindan and Bossk. Never ONCE did we see an alien officer, and it wouldn't have been difficult for them to do something like an officer with a rodian head considering the creatures we see in the cantina scene and all the work those required.

After New Hope Obi Wan is played as a ghost. You don't see it in the films, but ghost Obi Wan can actually physically interact with the real world, and fights like he did in the prequels. That's what he meant about being more powerful than you cold possibly imagine, it wasn't anything deep.

Hell yeah. Going to paint up my Obi-wan figure as a ghost!

Have you played SWTOR? I call it OT in everything but name. Yes, the Republic has the stormtrooper esque looking troopers, but everything else about the Sith Empire is clearly cribed from the OT empire, with just more Sith running around.

Extensively. What I'm saying is that any similarity is, from a lore perspective (from a real world perspective they clearly wanted to make them similar), purely coincidental.

The Sith Empire at the time of the Jedi Civil War was more similar to the First Order than the Empire, if you ask me. It was an Empire wannabe, but wasn't in control. It was also led by a very angry, insecure man in the form of Darth Malek, who wasn't as calm and self confident as Darth Sidius (or Snoke - in fact Malek reminds me more of Ren (with a bit of Hux thrown in), albeit somewhat wiser, more experienced, but still without the vision of his master).

We were talking about a different Sith Empire (SWTOR rather than KOTOR).

Dagobah getting skipped? I realize that there's a distinct lack of character in that part of the movie but...

Heroes: Yoda and Luke(Jedi student)

Baddies: New version of Vader.

Generic Dagobah critters that are unaligned, not even Scum, so either side can use them in either Skirmish(no need for an upgrade card like Scum/Rebel card) or Campaign. Can look through the LCG for critter ideas.

Oh, I didn't know there were set in different eras. When was/is SWTOR set?

KOTOR is set roughly 4000 years BBY, while SWTOR starts at about 3700 BBY.

I'm very suprised that almost no one thinks and/or wants the Emporer to be in it. Empire could use another force user

. Yes actually what did I miss

People want the Emporer to be in the game. They think the Empire needs another Force User.

And people don't want the Emperor to be in the game. As he is far too important and isn't a fighter.

He doesn't have to be a fighter - the setting can involve him being involved slightly unwillingly.

I'd rather he doesn't use a lightsaber though - I think both he and Yoda were cooler when it seemed like they were above such petty material methods. His attacks should be entirely force based.

I would be perfectly happy if we never see Palpatine, but if we do I hope he is very late in the release. He would probably be in the time period 6 campaign. It would be awesome if he was the first villain that you couldn't earn, though.

Mara Jade could help towards that goal.

What's she from?

As long as it's not witches and barely dressed women, I'm happy with whatever new content comes this way.

When this game started the natural progression was through the OT, from ANH to ESB, and we naturally expected ROTJ next. But I think all that's changed with the three dead guys that are on the horizon. It only makes sense that they'd give us a campaign that we can actually use them in, so anything else would be a huge surprise to me.

She's from TNG?

She shouldn't be in X-Wing at all then if you ask me.

I would love to see the emperor in a kinda end boss type situation !

I think the people predicting Jabba's palace based on the OT-based trajectory we've seen so far are right. I think the people predicting something set before ANH due to the "three dead guys" wave are... also right. Think about it - an expansion built around Jabba's palace would have to happen some time BEFORE RotJ, since after means Jabba's dead, the Rancor's dead, all his goons are dead or scattered to the winds. So since it has to be before RotJ, why not several years before?

That would actually work! How has no one else thought of this !?

BC with Rebels, we havent seen Jabba. And most of us dont think we are gonna see prequels at this pt. But we have all mentioned an Underground/Nar Shadaa/Hutta type box set, where the Hutts are just involved regardless.

My guess is that the Inquisitor will only be available in time period 1, while the other two "dead guys" are 1 and 2. But who says that the time period 1 box has to be exclusive Rebels? Could we not have a few characters from Rebels like Hera, The Jedi guy (his name escapes me right now) and Chopper? Then we could get the others later .
