So i built my team hoping to get second and try to use my objectives to my advantage.
With the red objective i can get up to 30 pts a turn from the apts on the demolisher. Also typically sneaking in a few more by sacrificing an unused damage when avenger would get a kill. Then bombers doing bomber things.
Superior positions- with 8 squads and expanded hangers i typically can can win a squadron battle by round 4. Having 3 rogues helps late game. Especially IG-88. Also demolisher is usually going after the rear arc.
Lastly Hyperspace assault, this will get explained in the games i played. I will say i was most excited for this to be picked.
So long before i left spokane for tacoma i had decided i would use my bye. I played xwing the night before and new id been mentally drained by the time i played saturday night. I was right. I got 4 hours of sleep each of the three previous nights by tournament time.
They ended up giving 9-1 byes. Now im really liking my odds and enjoyed my time getting to watch my potential future opponents.
So game 1 round 2. Im terrible with names and my lack of sleep didnt help. So if your on hear let me know.

I took second player and he chose hyperspace assault. I placed my tokens at both end of his setup and one in the middle. My desire was to deploy behind his fleet. I set aside demo rhymer and both firesprays.
He set up to my right with everything facing left except j-light pointed at me. I set my lone ship at my right going left and slightly forward. Station to the isds right with 3 striods just beyond that i had a screen and knew rear would be safe from all but j-light. I was @ speed 1 and he was @ 2.
Pretty boring early. I picked squad, move squad and he slowed to speed 1 but was moving away from squad battle so his squad commands didnt get max squads. I was a little catious with deploying the glad and it took to turn 4.
Finallly ships shoot ships. Im behind 2 af & vette w ackbar. Hes first and activates an af2 close to demo. Rear arc shot so minimal damage. I realize now that im at best gonna be in a side arc of the other whale. Kinda in this formation, star is ackbar. /-* lol.
I decided i had to go for ackbar and may have lost otherwise. I needed the 1-shot.
I moved into rear arc of activated whale and my side facing vettes rear. Took my shot and an OE reroll to get 7 damage and used apt to get 8. Dead. Fireworks in my head exploded. Unactive whale has next shot and has demolisher double arc'd but obstructed for both by his activated whale. Again minimal damage. Turn five more exchange of fire nothing dies but demo is expelling smoke like a volcano at this point. I get isd into battle finally a little at turn five aside from its exchanges with j-light from its side. At some point i switch a command to engineering to recover most damage from that. It ends with demolisher dying turn 6 and one of his whales and a hawk. Rhymer and the took a few shots and the sprays but my squad rolls failed me and i only took a hwk. I won with a 7-3.
Game 2 round 3 vs ArmadaJim. This is why i play Armada and enjoy it more than X-wing. Look for his podcast to find more information on his Fleet as I was tired we were rushed and I don't remember what all he had. It was an MC 80 and mc30 and a Corvette b with Reikan and 5 unique squads. Dash, Tyco, Keyan, nym, and han solo.
I knew what he had roughly from talking/scouting most of round 1 from us both having byes. Which i enjoyed seeing snother persons view and immediately knew i need my A game for rnd 3. Tirions view is getting boring
I ask what he scored, 9-1 in round 2. So Im down by 2 but im pretty sure we are top table so i know i need minimum 7-3 to beat Jim and i felt an 8-2 would give me a good shot at the championship.
Again roughly same strategy here. Stay out of the fight with my ISD until round 4 and get my demolisher behind his Fleet as soon as possible. I setup my objective tokens the same but this time my opponent setup to my left in the corner of setup area. The 30 and vette inside of the 80. Keyan and nym left to trail the heard. I got my isd center-right of map plus ig, 3x adv, dengar. Looking at his aces i see everyone has double brace except tyco. FML. I need AMAZING squadron rolls with my spilt force to kill his squads. I knew his ships would get some AA (anti-squadron) shots before me. So decided i got to get 1 squad command off on a ship attack. Preferably the vette then the 30.
The first few rounds went the same as before. Me getting tokens creeping at speed 1. Waiting for Demolisher to show up from hyperspace. Turn 3 he does. My squad rolls didnt help as keyan tied up the sprays well. It took them till the last attack to kill him but i knew squads were gonna be a wash.
I cant remember rounds but i know the 80 bump the corvette and i got a squadron command sending all five squads with the isd to attack his vette. Getting 4 hits i think. Vette goes down next turn (5 i think). Demolisher is going toe to toe with the 80. Living from 2 side arc shots and one rear. He also lost a defense token from nym round 4. He was a BeefSquatch that day. I wanna say demolisher got avengers favorite face up damage from Apts in round 5 to really seal the death of the mc80. "Cant ready defense tokens" with only contain being green on the mc80.
I finished off keyan and the mc80 round six. The mc 30 never got a blk dice shot and would have but was able to shift away @speed two with a left notch, right notch maneuver. Escaping by a half inch or so.
It ended with me getting a 9-1 but could have been so different. ArmadaJim had BOTH of my ship to 1 hull. After getting home sunday i noticed 1 adv, 1 firespray and i believe ig-88 were at 1 hull with dengar @2. This is exactly how i want to play this fleet. Not quite this close as i probably should of engineering captained a command. Instead of some low activation squad commands. My goal is to use my squads to put up a screen early exchange shots late and use the round limit to save me.
I would like to thank all my opponents and everyone @ the event. No one seemed to annoyed by me hovering over games the first round.
ArmadaJim you get a special mention as i wouldnt of handled a loss like that nearly as well as you did.
