Hi all!

I recently got Decimator and want to use it in pair with Soontir Fel or Inquisitor. This is how I see it:

Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)

- Engine Upgrade (4)

I am now stuck with choosing Elite Talent. Shall I opt for Predator (so that I can get an extra chance of Focus to change it into crit or at least hit) or PTL (so that I can use Boost + Focus for positioning, or Focus + TL for extra fire-power)?

Predator is awesome on RAC. With a reroll and his ability getting to change a focus result he doesn't really need to use an action to modify his attacks.

I tossed Determination on there as a cheap option to buy him 1-3 extra health for cheap.

Guy in our local group flies that RAC build but with PTl. It's a terror but I've always thought I'd personally fly it with Predator instead of push every time.

Main reason being that a Deci tied to green moves is predictable. As soon as your getting blocked your losing out on those double actions completely anyway.

Take predator and just boost boost boost your way to victory!

This. Helps damage output on inevitable bumps too.

I prefer VI, personally, as it turns RAC w/ EU into an Arc Dodger.

I'm generally using Vader crew in this setup, though, so am not terribly worried about RAC's main gun actually landing hits.

RAC + PTL + EU + Vader + Isard + Kallus = 62 points if my math is right.

Turn 1 Straight 4 or bank 3, head on into Soontir, boost to get closer. Shoot Soontir. Vader Soontir.

Turn 2 (hopefully you took 3 damage last turn and no crits, + Vader's 2 self inflicted damage). If Isard is getting her action, then your activation action is to TL or boost as necessary, then PTL when she activates to TL. Shoot at Soontir. Deal all the damages. Vader if necessary. Flick the dead Soontir over with your index finger.

Just remember to not PTL until after getting the evade from Isard. The size of the Deci combined w/ the boost action gives you a bit more freedom to shed the stress, and since blocking only affects actions during activation, then that free evade action at the beginning of combat can trigger PTL, helping to maintain some action economy.

Repeat turns 1 and 2 with other aces as necessary. Shake hands. GG. Oh, and don't forget the other 38 points of murder you brought along for the ride...
