Question on Huge Ships fleeing the battlefield.

I realize this may be completely obvious but I just am unsure. And I have not found this question on the forums.

When a section of a huge ship goes over the edge, is the whole ship considered destroyed (fleeing)? I ask because huge ships are mostly thought of as separate entities sometimes, the fore and aft. So, if a part of the fore section went off the edge, would the fore be crippled and the aft still ok? Or would the whole ship be out?
