What color personifies the Rebels? Imperials? Scum?

By UCLAJediKnight, in X-Wing

So I am going to paint the bases and possibly the pegs of my minis. I was going to paint them all matte black but I think I am going to use a different color for each faction. I think they'd look pretty sweet.

My first impulse is:

1) Rebel - blue bases. Maybe red like the Rebel Starbird? Green like Luke's lightsaber?

2) Imperial - grey bases. I'm pretty set on grey for the Imperials.

3) Scum - brown. I don't even own any scum but if I did they just seem brown.

What do you guys think?

Rebels - Red
Empire - Green
S&V - Yellow

All praise the glorious X-wing game series !

So the colors of their lasers?

Rebels- red and yellow. Red for the blood they spilled overthrowing law and order. Yellow for thier cowardance.

Scum- Brown. Color of dirt. The mix of many colors.

Imperial- White. Purity. Perfection. Law. Order.

Rebels- Red or Blue (primary accent colors for multiple ships)

Imperial- Gray/Black/Red/Green (the green for the lasers, the others flow with general Imperial color schemes)

Scum- Yellow/Brown or anything really (No real overall coherent scheme, pretty much individuals/small units)

No, it's how the fighters appeared on the tactical maps in the Lucasarts games.

In these games there were

Rebels = Red

Empire= Green

Scum(other parties)= Cyan Blue / Magenta

Since the cardboard-tiles on the fighters use Yellow for Scum, I'd go myself with that yellow for their bases too. Rest as is.

Actually, neutral appeared blue, and pirates or other non-aligned hostile were yellow.

Another vote for red green and yellow. The colour of their lasers, the colour of their radar tags in the PC games, and the colour FFG has used on their bases in the miniatures game. Simples.

Why not just wait a short while for the new coloured bases. I'll be matching my bases to the colour of the firing arcs on the card bases, so...

Rebel = Red

Imperial = Green

Scum = Orange

I am referring to the Mission Description Maps in Lucasarts Tie Fighter ...:

Red for rebels to show the fanatics spilling the blood of the innocent.

Grey for scum who work in the shadows corrupting all.

White for empire showing our untarnished purity and the just nature of our cause.

Red for Rebels (it's the color the Alliance logo is seen in 75% of the time), with blue as a secondary choice (as it's the other common color)

Any of black/white/gray for Imperials

Brown or yellow for scum
