Return of the Jedi

By landoro, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Hi all!
So I am one of those that love the Jedi and with 3 force users they are a viable force to build around (and we have Obi Wan on the way!), at least for fun like the 4 bounty hunters.

So this is my Jedi squad, how would yours look like?

In this squad I wanted to try all the force user command cards, have not used many of them so wanted to really test them out.

Of course this is not a real competitative list to wind world championships with but I would really like to use something like this and get at least 50/50 win loss ratio vs middle meta lists.

Deployment Cards
---------------------------
▪ Gideon Argus
Echo Base Trooper
▪ Luke Skywalker
▪ Diala Passil
▪ Davith Elso
Elite Rebel Saboteur
▪ Balance of the Force
Command Cards
------------------------
Deflection
Deflection
Fleet Footed
Recovery
Take Initiative
Telekinetic Throw
Knowledge and Defense
Meditation
Sarlacc Sweep
Son of Skywalker
Hard to Hit
I Can Feel It
Heart of Freedom
Vanish
Force Illusion
I really wanted to include "pummel", will test this out first and then decide which force user cards that gets cut and replaced with generic cards. Thought about taking out "Heart of freedom" for "pummel" but "Heart" is just to good even for a test squad.

Personally I hate multi figure activation's, especially if your gonna try to claim your list as a Jedi list ;) . Playing Star Wars is all about the Heroes!

Murderous Murne lends himself well to the Force User theme with his False Orders aka Jedi Mind Trick. Took second place in a regional that was awash in Trooper lists and some creatures with the following list. I was outnumbered (model wise) by at least 3 models every game I played, usually 5.

My advice for pummel is DON'T. These force users need to be moving constantly, not standing still. Davith can already double attack most rounds with Fell Swoop. Also, Knowledge and Defense looks great, sucks in practice. At least in my extensive testing of it (playing Diala, Luke and Leia for a while now even before Davith). Force Illusion is to expensive for a one use Hide IMO. Also, you almost need Balance of the Force to REALLY maximize on your command cards for your Jedi's.

Luke

Leia

Davith

Diala

Murne

C-3PO

Rebel High Command

Balance of the Force

Heroic Effort

Command Deck

Son of Skywalker

Vanish

Sarlaac Sweep

Heart of Freedom

Comm Disruption

Telekinetic Throw

Deflection x2

Hit and Run

Single Purpose

Stealth Tactics

Strategic Shift

Take Initiative

Element of Surprise

Disorient

Dude, massive props to you for taking second with a hero-only squad! I would've loved to see how you played it. Regardless, I'm glad to see that this kind of squad is at least viable (or very viable, in your case!).

Personally, I'm really excited to play this squad once Obiwan becomes available.

Im not sure why any Rebel deck wouldnt auto include Leia. The free attack, the reuse of Command Cards, Leader/Spy traits; shes just so OP.

Thanks for the advice.
I really like a full hero list and will try one out, Yours looks awsome, I have an idea to use:

Luke

Leia

Diala

Davith

Gideon

C3P0

R2-D2

Balance

Heroic

Might see if I can get replace the droids for Murne but I would like to have a droid for Devoation in a list like this.

My list with the multifigure cards are not meant to be an "all Jedi list". just wanted all the Jedi and then I took the most competative cards that I own to try and make it more viable,

As for command cards, have not used as many Force User cards so thats why all of them are in the deck, just for testing, the ones I think will get cut are Knowledge and Defence, Meditation, then I will see about Force illusion, waht you say seems right.
Thanks for the advice on Pummel, I just like tha idea of Davith performing 3 attacks during his turn with Fell Swoop but will probably make do with 2.

I also thought that "To the limit" and "Pummel" might be a doog combo, first a move to a good postion and then 2 attacks, with Diala it who has cleave it feels strong, if you can get it into play.

Quick reminder: you can you use to the limit after you perform some special action, not just move

My advice is to take Rebel High Command. You wont be controlling terminals often with an all hero list and you NEED your command cards.

As for Meditation and K+D, Meditation can be great at the right time, especially with Davith. K+D is almost never useful. An extra white die for an action sounds OK, but that means your moving less or not attacking and relying on a 1/6 chance to pay off most of the time. All that on top of being a 2 cost CMD card is pretty steep.

As for PtL, you CANNOT use it after a normal action like Move or Attack. It must be AFTER a special action (either on the heroes deployment card or CMD card) so your Move - PtL - Pummel combo wouldn't work.

But, you can use To the Limit after Davith uses Vanish....

But, you can use To the Limit after Davith uses Vanish....

To situational to justify taking it IMO. There are better CMD cards available that don't have such a deep downside (both in use and in possibility of use). Sure Move > Vanish > PtL > Move again or attack would be nice, but it wont happen very often.

Yes forgot the trigger for "To the limit" is a special action and not ajust a action, personally I think this is silly but sure.

Is interact a special action?

You could still use either "Urgency" or "Fleet fotted"to move and "Pummel".

But it might not be the bset card, what other cards do you think work best with some Force users or just and all hero squad.

What should I take out from my all hero squad to put in Rebel HIgh Command? Just switch it with C3P0?

I am trying out my original list vs a merc test squad, its going good bu the merc list is not very strong.

My suggestion would be to drop the two troopers and balance and pick up Leia, C3PO, and Rebel High Command. If you're using force users you want to still include Leia, for thematic reasons and also because she has a command card that lets her become a force user for a turn (and she's awesome!). C3PO because focus is really great for your list (such wonderful surge abilities in this list!). RHC is important because you will have a bunch of named cards in your deck and drawing them is all that matters (plus with the new strain mechanics having a higher draw might be important). I would also add devotion in your command deck so you have a higher chance of getting Son of Skywalker.
