Anyone else disappointed about the version of the Interdictor they picked?

By Lord Tareq, in Star Wars: Armada

That's because this isn't your old EU Interdictor at all...

The EU Interdictor was a medium-sized support cruiser.

The new Rebels Interdictor, of which this is, is more akin to a heavily modified Star Destroyer. It was a Prototype in the Show, a Testbed going through final operational testing by ambushing Rebel cells and swallowing up CR-90s like some Tantive-Devestator Nightmare yet to come...

There's nothing to state the Immobilizer 418 Interdictor Cruiser won't come at a later time. It too is canon as of the Tarkin novel. But for now, we get the 'fresher', more 'visually new and familiar to newcomers' Interdictor.

The Rebels Interdictior is gorgeous though! In my opinion it is one of the best looking models for the game.

It screams dangerous and makes you worry about it. Add in some red to white gradients in the grooves and you have an intimidating ship

Maybe pry it open, put some LEDs in? ;-)

With the red that beauty of a ship will look so sinister.

I'll be starting with the Repaint... I've got some transulcent fluro magenta and reds that I painted some other miniatures in previously... But its too bright for Window Glow, and I don't like Red Engine Glow on Imperials - so this will be the first time I can use it in Armada :D

Love the new model's design but like Lord Tareq I am surpirsed at the size of the vessel as I always thought of it as medium-sized support cruiser (ala Timothy Zahn books and the Imperial Sourcebook). Very surprised at it having more hull than a Victory [9 v 8]!!! But better a large-scale interdictor than no interdictor, for sure and doubtless it will interdict the contents of my wallet and find its way onto the battlefield. :)

Just once they get my Dreadnaught-class cruiser properly to scale ;) ....

It is a medium-based ship

Only the liberty is large-based
