THE FISH FLEET... How About Gang?

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in Star Wars: Armada

So we know we are getting a mean new Mon Cal heavy hitter in Wave IV. That has me thinking. Would an all Mon Calamari Fleet be cool?

I've played 80-30-30 a few times, which is a lot of fun. As for Liberty, I think it could make for some very interesting play with the MC30's. What the 30 really needs is a backstop to clean up after its initial attack run, which the MC80 does nicely.

I think the Liberty has the potential to do that even better, but will require a little more skill to make it work well. I kind of look at the Liberty--what we've seen of it, at least--as Home One with a little higher skill cap. Which is awesome, because I'm always interested in building fleets that are hard to fly but rewarding when flown well.

Cool observations. The Libby has more umph in the front too so it may just be great for the Fish.

Seconding Ardaedhel. MC30s were really hard to learn how to fly without dying before punching in teeth. The Liberty looks like the perfect clean-up crew for them, and with the engine techs, even if they are speed two they will be able to chase some stuff down.

So we CAN do the Fish Fleet... I bet it will be a thing too in one of them official things people do.

I saw a photo where home one and the super star destroyer were very close to the same size. looking at this I can believe it. and the MC 80 is a lot smaller them home one my about 4 times. :)

the mc 75 looks like a good ship size for SW A and a cool looking design/

After many deep and profound brain things inside my head I've decided I do want a fish fleet.

1x MC80 "Home One" Command Cruiser

2x MC80 "Home One" Assault Cruisers

6x MC80 "Liberty" Cruisers

5x MC30c Scout Frigates

I'm even contemplating a repaint for the fleet inspired by another favourite sci-fi fleet:

Edit: was supposed to be an image of Vorlon ship.

You won't be saying that when I post up a massive fleet engagement between them and the (First Order) Empire.

You need an ARMADA to play Armada.....

.....not really but that's my excuse.

GET TO DA CHOPPAH!

LOL. The picture in the OP looks like a fish catalog that a fancy restaurant might have on a wall.

On the other hand, the Imperial Navy is really just a selection of pizza slices of various sizes so it all comes down to:

In the battle for Italian quisine, there can only be one winner!

I am pretty sure that the SSD is much closer in size to the Viscount than Home One, as the Viscount was specifically created to be the New Republic equivalent of the big baddies. Could be wrong about that one, but if we wanted to get the closest comparison I think that would be it.

I love the fish! Half the time I just make fleet names like Rieekan's Spicy Shrimp, Garm's Seafood Medley, Ackbar Bisque.... now I am hungry. Regardless, I hope they make more fish ships.

From the pic OP shows Home One class and MC80 home one are different?
