back in the saddle

By Izza, in X-Wing Squad Lists

hey guys,

I've been out of the x wing scene for about a year now, but I've just got a friend into it and it's got me all excited about x wing again.

We're keen for a boys road trip up to a nearby tournament. I'm not expecting much but am keen to pack in a bunch of games and have some fun.

I've been thinking about what I like to play in tabletop games, and I've realised that its very maneuverable forces.

So here's what I'm looking at practising with and using at the event.

Let me know what you think, cheers

99 points

Jake Farrell [A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Push the Limit, Autothrusters, Veteran Instincts] (28)

Ello Asty [bB-8, Integrated Astromech] (32)

Keyan Farlander [Advanced Sensors, Push the Limit, Engine Upgrade] (39)

Got one point left, so could go VI on Ello.

I usually like something on Jake to give him some bite (predator or outmaneuver) but didnt have room here

Looks pretty solid to me, each ship is pretty maneuverable. You'll struggle against some higher PS aces, but otherwise do well.

You could throw Stay on Target on Keyan, which gives him a lot of maneuverability and also makes him unpredictable though it would also make the EU not nearly as useful due to not having the extra action from PTL. If you did switch to SoT and drop EU you could then afford to swap Jake's CR out for Proton Rockets though.

Or you could throw on Bwing/E2 and Navigator and have a really reactive Keyan that could end up always in perfect position of lower PS pilots.

thanks for the replies guys.

Stay on Target is definitely one option I've thought about. If I did that I'd drop the EU, and probably go E2 with Kyle, Jan or Hera.

Hera maybe not so much as the Stress "should" be gone by the time Keyan gets to go again. But it could be a good defense against enemy Stress givers. (ie dont care if I'm stressed I'm still gonna go where I want to)

I would run Keyan like this,

Veteran Instinct

Fire Control Systems (free rerolls)

Bwing/E2

Hera Syndulla (opens the movement dial)

I would run Ello Asty like this,

Predator (free rerolls)

BB-8

Autothrusters (survivability)

With not changing Jake and making these changes you now have 2 PS9 and one PS7 and one point to spare for initiative bid.

So I've been practising this list for a few weeks now. Mostly against my friend who is running a kind of Imp Aces list.

I've tweeked mine a bit over that time and here is my final version:

Jake Farrell [A-Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, Push the Limit, Autothrusters, Veteran Instincts] (28)

Ello Asty [bB-8, Veteran Instincts, Autothrusters] (36)

Keyan Farlander [Advanced Sensors, Stay on Target, B-Wing/E2, Intelligence Agent] (36)

The event we're going to is this weekend, gonna get wasted, but should have fun doing it. :D

i like it, is same setting i use to fly keyan.
