Wedge + Biggs + Lothal

By CRCL, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've been running this a bit recently on vassal and in our local meta:

34 Wedge w/ PtL, BB8, Integrated.

26 Biggs w/ R4D6, Integrated.

40 Lothal w/ FCS, ABT, Hera, Chopper.

I've been having a decent amount of success with it, which is unsurprising as it's 3 ships that are all tried-and-true. The Lothal hits hard, scares off aces and takes up space; PtL Wedge also hits hard and threatens PS8 aces; and Biggs protects Wedge and occassionally the Lothal (ordnance/Dash).

The list also looks cool on the table, with two X-wings escorting a transport.

Anyone running something similar and/or playing this list?

I might try to fit in Tactical Jammers on the VCX - it provides a big boost to Biggs' defensive capabilities. Not sure what you'd cut for it though. Maybe drop PTL to VI? I don't know how essential it is on Wedge (I've never played him). Or Adaptability on Wedge and Flechette Torps on the Ghost to give it an option to shoot backwards.

I actually don't always fly the Lothal near Biggs, although having the option could be quite useful. Something like this:

33 Wedge w/ Adapt, BB8, FT, Integrated.

26 Biggs w/ R4D6, Integrated.

41 Lothal w/ FCS, ABT, Hera, Chopper, TacJam.

Wedge is even better at threatening Soontir now. I'll have to give it a go.

Not sure what really to add other then tactical jammer on the lothal, but with this being said maybe fly Biggs and Wedge more or less inline behind the lothal where possible.

I tried something similar this last week at casual night:

Lothal + fcs+hera+chops

Biggs+r4d6+ia

Ten Numb + mangler + vi

I found out a few things, Lothal needs a turret. I didnt have the points and didnt think it would matter that much, but played against trip aces and lothal went two rounds in a row without a shot, ouch! Also PS10 numb needs adv sensors. But dont have the points!

Other than that the list worked as designed. Took a few rounds for biggs to down, and as that happened, numb was erasing stealth devices and shields. After biggs, lothal was focused down next (just as I wanted) but was bumping and then had no shot! So it was numb pecking away again with mangler. Lothal went down then it was numb who didnt last too long versus trip aces. I wanted a 1v1 with a PS10 numb but not attacking a few rounds with my big gun lothal hurt real bad.

So, going to swap some pieces around. I was contemplating Wedge instead of Numb initially. Fun list though!
