Quick question about overlapping:

By Sybreed, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

In the RRG it says:

"If a ship executes a maneuver and its final position would overlap another ship, it cannot finish its maneuver normally"

So, me not having played the game a lot, I want to ask this: is it possible for a ship to go completely over another ship and end its maneuver normally, without causing an overlap ?

Indeed!

You don't move along the tool. The ship is picked up, and placed at the end position for that maneuver speed.

You don't interact with anything in the way, until you are going for final placement .

Yes. You *only* measure positioning-based effects at the final position, so you can jump all the way over other ships.

This also means you can "fly off the board" as long as your starting and final positrons are entirely within the play area.

This also holds true for squadrons: you can "hop" over other squadrons and avoid engagement even if you flew right past them, as long as your final position isn't engaged.

ah, well that does bring interesting strategies in mind with smaller ships, thx!

In Armada you don't jump the SHARK, you jump the ISD...
