Does the Warlord title apply to counters rolled by a quad laser turret upgrade?
I assume it does as it reads "While attacking...". So, is this correct?
Warlord title: Quad laser turret counter
Sure Does.
Warlord
+
H9 Turbolasers
+
Quad Laser Turrets
=
Always 1 Point of Damage on Enemy Squadrons, when you shoot at them, and when they shoot at you at Close Range.
Nice, I saw the additions of either H9 or point defence to guarantee hits, but couldn't find a definite answer about it applying to standard QLT rolls.
Many thanks!
Counter Attacks are, for all intents and purposes, attacks .
This is why Howlrunner works during Counter-Attacks as an offside.
Of course, if your ability is a choose, an exhaust, or something similar to Dominator rather than Warlord , then each counter attack is a separate attack... If you're counter attacking a bunch of times, you could choose toburn through shields really quickly .
Cool, thats what I thought, that a counter would be an
attack
(no matter what), so surely Warlord applies.
Just wanted to hear a clarification in case someone called me on it, so thanks for confirming my hunch
(I was building a list and suddenly realised Warlords benefit in AS fire and Quad counters, and thought "but... thats epic!")
It's epic enough...until you meet your first Rhymer-ball. Then you realize that any bomber-heavy Imp list is bringing Rhymer. They you realize it's not so epic anymore. Good combo, but unfortunately useless against half the squad-lists you're likely to face.
Yeah, realise it won't defend against everything, still it was a cool combo I hadn't noticed before. But I appreciate the heads up.
Drafting a regionals list - (my first competitive anything to be fair) I'm kind of torn myself between a 4-ship list (which anti squad wise, would have to rely on ISD gunnery AA and a raider plus these Warlord quads/AA) Rhymerball or a 3 ship/hunter-squad list.
Unfortunately, very little/no local meta near me (my friends I’ve hooked into this game and I ARE the meta haha), so I've no idea of what may be brought to the table at this comp, Argh, decisions, decisions

Building for a tourney you should be ready to face the most common fleet archtypes. Rhymer is definitely one of them, and a clear winner in the Regionals statistics compiled by shmitty. Check them out. Might help you a bit since you lack a local meta.
Cheers, I did have a quick look the other day, (intended to do a bit more research this weekend). But yeah, I guess balls are still big... heheheheh

Where would one find shmitty's list?
