Advice on a ISD/Demo/Raider/mini-Rhymerball please!

By Lord Preyer, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi guys, I'm preparing for a spring kit event this weekend and was thinking of the following build.

In keeping with the meta of advice (sic) I'm flying the ships I really like: tooled up ISDII and Demo. I wonder about the mini-Rhymerball though - this is a new thing for me but I do love the Vader/Dengar synergy.

Anyway, thanks for reading this folks. Would really welcome your feedback please!

I'm only barely more than a novice myself, but looking at this I'm not sure what your squadron array will accomplish. Including rhymer without a significant number of bombers seems like it won't be very effective. The typical rhymer setup with have several firesprays, and sometimes other bombers. I actually have a similar setup I've been working on.

Raider-I Class Corvette (44 points)

Gives him 4 black dice firing at up to medium range, you have a 75% chance of 1 damage, so pretty good odds of getting 4(Vader/Rhymer can cause 2 damage) damage per round of them shooting, and that is nothing to be sniffed at.

It also has some bite for dealing with token squadron forces.

I have run Rhymer and 9 Tie Advanced before now, lot of black dice, and a virtually untouchable Rhymer, was good fun to try out.

Only question I have is how you going to drive those squads... I like my ships either full of anti ship upgrades doing navs/cf or squadron upgrades doing squadron, I like to keep them separate like that... here you are going to have to use your isd, and that will make it less effective against ships... and using these squads without a squadron command is kinda bleh in my opinion... either go rogue, or token TIE, or good squad commanded group...

Put acm on the glad and raider, cut leading shots from isd and run howlrunner 2 interceptors and an advanced, with a firesprays, not sure how it'll fit but that's my list

couple of things to consider:

1) what are you doing with that big bid ? Do you need to go first or second and who are you biding against and why. I would suggest that most lists will have far smaller bids and your list will be a bit first/ second agnostic anyway, so spend those points.

2) cut some fat from Demo, this is not a last first power house that wants Intel to knock out the brace for the two follow up arcs. You are likely to use him behind your imp to swoop onto flankers or for other harassing actions. So strip out the Intel officer.

3) give your raider a job..... Maybe anti fighter ( instigator and OE) or a bit more punch ( apt/ACM/expanded launchers and OE).

4) your number of deployment is a bit low.

5)Expanded hanger on your imp any be more use than gunnery team or Intel officer.

So you could spend a few points on your raider ( I would go instigator and OE) and pick up a a pair of bombers to give you more deployments and add to you rymer balls punch. I would also remove an upgrade from your ISD to pay for expanded hanger.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

I'm still working on this list ahead of my next Regionals so the feedback is really appreciated.

@theeasternking: I have to try out your Rhymermeatshield now! And cheers for seeing what I was trying to do with the original small force.

@jukey: will try out your suggestions with some list theory-ing.

@nathan29292: how do you handle going second with just three activations? It's my fear of this that's led me to such a high bid @jondavies72.

@skycake: I may just have to turn the ISD into a bit more of a carrier then.

@jondavies72: you're right. Intel isn't working on Demo. Will adjust. I may actually expand the ISD squad platform capability a bit now and will have another think about Raider purpose.

Thanks so much everyone!
