Attanni shenanigans: Manaroo, Guri, N'dru + other options??

Howdy folks,

so I was playing around Manaroo with Atanni Mindlink, as many other people do, but I wanted to try her as a pure blocker. Now her build comes at 36 points on it's own without titles or torpedoes.

My problem is, what to pair her up with.

The build I came up so far is as follows:

Now in this unfinished state I have 6 points left which I can either use on torps and extra munitions on Manaroo, which I actually rarely use, or illicit upgrades on N'dru and Guri.

Here is my question, what are the other options I could pair her with, I know Kavil with Blaster turret and Palob are good options, but I never can work out the points. Also what do you guys think of Attannid Boba Fett? Or Bossk, or IGs

In my experience, the mindlink works best when it's on more than two ships. Unless you're using something like Palob to steal the focus, and even then, people usually play around it. I find Kaa'to to be a better mindlink user than N'dru, personally. I like what you have here though, as Guri can possibly generate that focus if she bumps.

First of all: K4/Unhinged on Manaroo. I can't begin to describe how much better she becomes.

With this out of the way, I agree that Kaa'to is the better Z-man when it comes to a Mindlink squad. Keeps the engine going and he gets surprisingly sturdy.

For Guri, either put Sensor Jammer or strip her of Virago altogether. If you want a "swarm" of sorts, my bet would be on:

Other than that, you have Palob as a great engine, Kavil with Blaster Turret/R4 Agromech as a consistent attacker and Talonbane with Engine Upgrade/Cloaking Device as a potent ace. I would advise against large ships for their tendency to stress themselves for emergency contingencies.

So after trying the list today, I must say, N'dru gets shot down super fast. I managed with some reaaaally lucky rolls on green dice (thing that never happens to me) get out the Cluster missiles later, but other than that, Kaato would have been better.

I love Manaroo, Mindlink and her ability is bonkers, and with Guri I ended up with 5 focuses across the team every turn.

I found that APL is really good on her, as is Feedback Array. I'm still unsure about K4/Unhinged or IntAgent/R5-P8 Combo. Both are same points and in all the games I find myself using both the upgrades duos pretty often.

I think that mabye after getting better at the game (I'm a bit of a noob in predicting movements, that's why I suck at Boba Fett and Poe) I will stick to K4, but Int Agent gives me room to manouver and do barrel rolls for blocking more often.

So here's a second take, after putting up some experience with other ships, into a Manaroo/Mindlink list:

on N'Dru I've had better results with homing missiles having rerolls and then spending focus means I get almost always 5 hits.

I've also had some fun with ndru with a hotshot turret as it can mean the equivalent of a range 1 attack at range 2 in a 360 arc

This is what I ran at the Durham regionals. I ended up 3-3, but I feel that if hadn't played it poorly in a couple key matches, I could have made the cut. Tournament fatigue was real.

The combo is really fun to play, and it's quite competitive. I've beat palp aces and u boats with it, I might even go so far as to sat it was broken had I not finally lost some matches with it. You can potentially end up with 8 focus tokens and a target lock spread over the three ships. I also test led quite a few variations of upgrade combinations in the run up.

I spent the first couple minutes of every match explaining the mechanics to my opponent to avoid confusion later.
