I love both games, and eagerly anticipate both shipments, and in doing so I've noticed that IA stuff seems to get here way faster than X-Wing stuff.
I wonder why that is, or am I off on that?

The guy in charge of the warehouse is so afraid of running out of stock that he does not release any of it until the 2nd boat arrives. I can't really blame him... can you imagine facing an army of ship deprived X-Wing players? Now that is scary!

The hype for this expansion is intense. FFG would get a lot of flak if they released it and it sold out not even a day later.

I didn't even know the game had a ywing until my first tourney, and didn't get one of my own until the year after.

Ooooooooooh now i get why the painting sub-forum is back.. they need to get all the x-wing painters together to paint their boat once it does arrive!

It's actually the other way around. The X-Wing models took all the paint, so there was none leftover for the boat. But IA is unpainted, so they used it all on the boat. The X-Wing boat has to stop for repairs all the time because of the oxidation.
