Quad-Sphere Silvan Trait Deck

By 1mperia1Aces, in Strategy and deck-building

Good afternoon,

http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/1451/quad-sphere-silvan-trait-deck-1.0

This is my first attempt at putting a deck up on RingsDB. I love the mechanics of the Silvan trait but want to find a deck idea that could be used in both multiplayer and solo and one that takes advantage of as many of the great Silvan cards from different spheres as possible. I think something like this may be my best bet, but I'm a little worried about a couple of the deck's weaknesses, primarily defending against big enemies (of which there seem to be more and more lately). I'd welcome any feedback on this deck! Thanks!

Rumil's probably too expensive for a quad sphere deck.

Galadhrim Minstrel is a great Silvan Ally.

Legolas + Galadhrim Bow + Hands Upon The Bow, anyone?

Blocking big enemies isn't especially important when you can play Orophin to fish discarded allies back into your hand.

Yeah, Rumil is a bit pricey I suppose, my thought was just to spread out cards across the spheres.

The Minstrel is good for fishing events, but with Galadriel's card draw ability and the Mirror, I haven't really hurt for card draw with this deck. The Minstrel is also not really good for anything except the card draw. I guess I've traditionally been averse to chump blocking because of all the nasty shadow effects that punish you for it, but I guess the Minstrel would be an ideal chump blocker.

Maybe I'll ditch the Rumils, add the Minstrels, and maybe another Orophin or some Hands Upon the Bow.

I've been trying this solo against the Wastes of Eriador and have yet to win after several attempts, though I've gotten close several times.

Thanks for your suggestions!

The newly spoiled Captain's Wisdom would be great in this deck. Every hero is Noble, so it could be used to give you whichever resources you need.

In general, I would take A Test of Will over Island Amid Perils if I can only have one, even in a Silvan deck.

It appears that you're trying to be as "thematic" as possible, in which case neither of these suggestions are very good. :-)

Hands Upon the Bow is definitely an amazing card because it you kill the enemy, you help out in 3 ways: less threat so it helps questing, one less enemy to defend, and it gives a bonus attack to help kill the enemy in one shot.

Silver Harp can help you use the Mirror without hesitation.

A Burning Brand could go on Celeborn if he gets one of those songs on him.

Especially with quad-sphere decks, there are a LOT of potential other cards to put in a deck. Of course, in this instance, the thematic approach limits which cards will be considered, but it also limits the potential power of the deck. Lots of decisions to make for a deck like this.

I actually prefer Island Amid Perils over Pursuing the Enemy. I think I'll swap out Pursuing the Enemy for some Test of Will.

I have definitely warmed to Hands Upon the Bow! It has come in handy now several times since I've added it.

Silver Harp is good, but I feel like it's too expensive. I often need Galadriel's resources to pay for other things.

I've thought about throwing in Burning Brand, but it would take a little setup to make it work (Song of Wisdom first), and once again it's expensive - in the flow of the game, I find myself often preferring to use the resources for other cards. I might add it again, though.

I was trying to be very "thematic" - because I enjoy playing decks like that, but also because I run a 4 player game group of friends that meets weekly, and I have to build the decks for everybody from my own collection. I've found the easiest way to make sure I get 4 decent decks (that still stand a chance in solo) is to keep them pretty trait based, so that they don't have to overlap cards too often (since I only have one copy of each expansion).

Thank you everybody for your suggestions, though, I've appreciated it!
