Midwest Players we need you!

By Rogue Dakotan, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Hi guys.

This could be in the Organized Play subforum but I don't think many people open that often.

We're having a Regionals in Fargo, ND on June 4th.

There are currently only 7 people pre-registered.

There needs to be a minimum of 10 players to hold a regional tournament.

So if you're within travel distance of Fargo you should consider coming out. You'll help the tournament happen and your odds of doing well will be high since there will be so few players!

do it.

come to Fargo.

It's only ten hours away...it would be fun though.

ROAD TRIP

The "minimum 10 players" really doesn't apply. You bought the kit, you run the tournament, to the best of the FFG OP rules as possible. If 9 people show up and some of them drove 4+ hours, are you really going to call off the tournament? That's a huge disservice to the players and IA OP.

Even so... go to Fargo. I'd go and have driven further (twice!) for a Regional, but I have plans! (Plus... I already won a Regional. Heh, heh.)

I sometimes hate living in the "Midwest".

Central Illinois is only "10.5 hours without traffic" away from you. :D

Imagine living in Canada... The midwest US is a bit more heavily populated than here in Saskatchewan.

I dunno, but I think the tournament kit explicitly says you need 10 players.

What's the event fee? I'll PayPal you my entry fee and you can send me my prizes for losing all 4 rounds if it helps get you to 10.

(kidding!! I'm not endorsing providing false tournament info to FFG.)

I don't see in the most recent tournament rules where it says a minimum of 10 players. The "Advanced Structure" section shows "9-12 players" as the lowest amount, but that doesn't imply the tournament should be called off if less than 9 play. This is a case where you shouldn't be by-the-books, for the good of everybody.

Ha, interesting, another Saskatchewan player? I thought there was only two of us :D

We've started to grow the community a bit in Saskatoon, I believe we will be having a summer kit tourney at Dragons Den at some point in the near future. Regionals next year :)

Oddly enough, this is only 3.5 hours from my wife's parent's home in SD.

I have a serious sickness as I'm actually contemplating trying to convince her to go visit them so I can play in another regional event.

Driving up from the Twin Cities. 4 hours!
