Decision On Regionals Lists - Rebels

By SmurfWedge, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi guys

Looking for critiques/suggestions on the below lists. I'm taking one of them to a Spring Tournament and then on to Regionals as well.

All comments/critiques welcome.

List 1 - Heroes Of The Rebellion

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points:
398/400

Commander: Admiral Ackbar

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective:
Fire Lanes
Navigation Objective: Intel Sweep

[Flagship] Assault Frigate Mark II B (Radiant Light) (72 points)
- Admiral Ackbar (38 points)
- Gunnery Team (7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures (7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (Rebel Dawn) (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (Corellian Sky) (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (Vigilant Knight) (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7 points)

1 x Wedge Antilles (19 points)
1 x Tycho Celchu (16 points)
1 x Dutch Vander (16 points)
1 x Dash Rendar (24 points)
1 x Han Solo (26 points)
1 x Luke (20 points)

List 2 - Its A Trap

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points:
400/400

Commander: Admiral Ackbar

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective:
Fire Lanes
Navigation Objective: Intel Sweep

[Flagship] Assault Frigate Mark II B (Radiant Light) (72 points)
- Admiral Ackbar (38 points)
- Gunnery Team (7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures (7 points)

Assault Frigate Mark II B (Elysium Gate) (72 points)
- Gunnery Team (7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures (7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (Rebel Dawn) (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7 points)

CR90 Corvette A (Corellian Sky) (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7 points)

8 x A-Wing Squadrons (88 points)

List A screams for Riekaan instead of ackbar. it would also give you a 10 point bid

List b looks solid,

So long as you are cool with the fact that Ackbar does not Help you claim Fire Lanes tokens... They're both pretty solid Gunline Shark lists.

I certainly prefer Generic As over the Flying Circus with Ackbar... Echoing CenterPoint, the flying Circus wants Rieekan to really mess with people.

I am not sure if Fire lanes is a good one for either of these lists. . . at best you are putting a constant 6 dice on the tokens but ultimately that is not a lot with closing imperials.

I've been playing around with something similar to your second list. It's pretty darn effective.

Awesome. Thanks for all the advice guys.

So what I'm taking away is that list 2 is a lot better for running Ackbar.

I think this is probably the list to go for then as I haven't really had a lot of success with Rieekan....I'm obviously not flying him correctly. I do understand the reasoning behind Rieekan for the flying circus though. Keeps them ticking.

Saying that...what would be a decent objective over fire lanes as I'm getting the message from you guys that it's not great for either list. I always struggle to choose one for the defense objective. What would suit list 2?

I would absolutely run Fire Lanes with that second list.

If anything I'd swap Intel Seeep for Superior Positions.

Thanks a lot Shmitty.

Fire Lanes is risky. If you go against a list with more red dice than you. . . It can cost you the game. Though this won't quite be an issue just yet, it still requires consideration

Thanks Ly. What defense objective would you recommend. Nothing really suits my list.

Contested Outpost.

It forces your opponents to come to you. Another that works is Fire Lanes even though I don't think it is a great idea. Most people who have picked it as first player have been so badly burned by it that they don't select it anymore so it will be a meta call. You don't have to stack all 3 tokens. Watch a few of WWPDSteven's videos. Here is one.

Superior Positions is often depressing. If your opponent knows how to turtle in the corner the will. In which case, are you capable of killing them?

I wont take it anymore as I refuse to play an objective which makes my best play sometimes to not engage in a fight. Thats a move I am not willing to make.

What I do like about superior positions is seeing the opponents deployment....what I don't like is mass bomber runs on my rear. Decisions decisions

One small suggestion I'd offer is to drop the ECM off the second whale so that you can put lando on the Akbar one which could save you're ass from a double tapping demo... I'd use the extra 3 points as a bid... I reckon 3 points is enough to beat most people if you are wanting second. Or just drop a veteran captain or leia on something if that's not floating your boat
