So, just to be clear, no matter how many Ugnaughts you have, you can only ever have ONE Junk Droid on the map at a time, right?

That is how it looks to me at the moment.
Yeah. That's a shame, but also it would get confusing keeping ugnaught and droids paired up without marking them.
What's a bigger shame is that companions and figures can occupy the same space, which means you'll probably just have to stick with the provided tokens rather than using old WOTC droid figures like some of us were planning.
Might still use the Gonk figure though since he's flat and can be stood upon.
I wonder what other companions we'll see...
Kowakian lizard monkey seems like a given.
Maybe the little baby probe droid things the seventh sister has in rebels.
An interrogation droid
Mouse droid
Gonk droid
I wonder if companion astromechs means we won't see more actual astromech figures like R2...
So the companion can't use class, item or supply cards..... but can use command cards in skirmish?
And abilities that target a companion in skirmish can only target your own.... So does that mean you can't target your opponent's companion in any way except attacking? Cant use command cards on them?
Finally, they can't interact but I assume they can still control objectives and terminals?
These rules are very bad. I'll be fixing them as will most people I'm sure. Thanks for putting 3 Ugnaughts in the box there Fantasy Flight. Rather than put 1 and 2 actually useful figures instead like ISB agents. What a ripoff.
Are companions adjacent to figures and items adjacent to the space they occupy?
Or does a companion have to be in the same space as a figure or item to be considered adjacent?
The junk droid will be controlled by each ugnaught when it activates. It can come back over and over again. It can ping to each ugnaught whenever you use spot weld. And elite ugnaughts will be able to make it attack an extra time each activation. There could be some fun to be had there.
On the other hand, is there even any conceivable way to deal with 6 ugnaughts and 6 junk droids without it being an absolute waste of your actions every round and being overpowered? I don't know, but I'd like to not have a list that is so overwhelmingly overpowered again like the first year. So here's hoping they're still powerful enough to be valid but not overwhelming.

Yes.
The Companion rules do not change the core adjacency rules. The adjacency to figures and objects in the same space needs to be specified in the Companion rules because the core rules do not specify it (core rules only specify it for purposes of Blast and Cleave, not for other uses).

Umm, they're in the box and the ISB Agents are in a standalone pack and can be easily purchased over and over again without the cost of buying a box expansion... If anything, thats brilliant... Now if only they release Wing Guards like they did the Rebel and Imperial Troopers...
So if the junk droids are for the Ugnaughts, who are the other two companions for?

campaign stuff probably. I bet the heroes will have a couple.

I'm assuming that is to make sure that if a match occurs and both players have the same companion in play, you cannot "take control" of the opponent's companion - ie my eUgnaught cannot use Overclock to cause your Junk Droid to interrupt to move or attack.
An Ugnaught Junk Droid Mirror Match would be funny though (if you could control your opponents droids...)
