Armada player down. Houston Sector

Fleet Commanders

I've been travelling abroad from my home system of Australia and have crashed in the USA quadrant.

Currently in Washington DC but will be scavenging for hyperdrive parts in the Houston sector between 27-29 May and was also hoping to hook up a local game to get a taste American meta!

So is there anyone available to show a foreigner around? I would also probably have to borrow a fleet since i didn't fly in with one.

Im also aware the MN regionals are on during those dates and mega bummed i didn't land closer to there, oh well.

Cheers!

Man, with the title of this thread I thought one of the community had died!

Sucks that you wont still be in DC this weekend or you could go to the West VA Regionals...I could have lent you a fleet.

Yeah, this. Whew. I'm glad it's a positive thing, instead.

Are there any FLGS in the area i could visit with suggested times to check out at least?

Oh and my apologies for the unintentional scare clickbait

Welcome to the USA First and Foremost,

I am a little confused if your heading to Texas, or staying in Washington DC, So I will offer this thought for you,

On Facebook Nova Squad is the Virginia, Maryland Area I would tell you to join the group and ask them to see if anyone could be helpful

Tabletop Gaming Center is in San Ann Texas I would call them and ask if they know of anyone person in Texas closure to where your going to be. If you were in Charlotte North Carolina I could help out.

TallGiraffe is the guy you want to talk to, he's in Houston.

If you're up for a 3-hour drive either direction, both San Antonio and Dallas seem to have more active communities from what I've seen. Not sure about a Dallas POC unfortunately, but for San Antonio just join Alamo City Fleet Command on Facebook. And let me know if you're coming!

i was in texas last weekend for work - i would have been happy to play then lol

Good Luck Finding a group

I'm a Houston native, but I've lived in California for the past 14 years so I can't comment on the gaming scene, particularly Armada.

However, I will advise this: go get yourself some Cajun food and southern BBQ while you're there! There's also a ton of immigrants from all the warm and muggy places in the world, so if you have enough time, also go get yourself some authentic Punjabi Pakistani food, authentic Filipino food, and authentic Sichuan Chinese food! Quite a few cheap and good Vietnamese pho places as well (if you find yourself in the Bellaire area).

Where in Houston will you be staying? There are a few locations in the north side like Fat Ogre and Bad Wolf Games. One inside the 610 loop called Asgard's.

You should join the Facebook group. Just search Houston Armada - Mercury Fleet Command.

Im actually just trail blazing through the US. I started off in New York then Philadelphia and now im in DC. The next parts in my trip will be Houston and then Los Angeles for a few days.

The Armada itch is becoming really intense with all this wave 3 and 4 news so thought id try hook a game!

Thanks for the info i'll definitely check out the shops and groups

**** you were in new york!!

That's where I live always

You could have gotten a bunch of games in Philly.

But if you were too busy enjoying US history and cheesesteaks I'd understand.

authentic Filipino food

Make sure you check this out, Ken. Something different for you...

Im married to one heh

Also very relieved to see this isn't about an Armada player in dire medical condition or recently passed away. Sheesh, you scared us! Nevertheless, enjoy your trip in the States!! :)

Got my fix!

Big thanks to my opponent Tallgiraffe forvthe game and Issac for lending me a fleet!!
