Hi all,
I know that there are some scale issues when it comes to Star Wars vehicles, but I am having real trouble trying to pin down how long a model of Luke's Landspeeder would have to be in order to match up roughly with the IA figures (as scenery).
For my starting point, the human model figures in IA (and from the comparable WotC range) appear to be roughly 34mm tall, or about 1/52 scale.
Now to establish the estimated length of Luke's landspeeder. Here, several online sources state 3.4 metres (i.e., about twice the length of a male human). That doesn't seem too far off, to judge from this pic, assuming we are measuring only the hull and *not* including the rear jet engine nascelle:

With that in mind, on a 1/52 model the hull should surely be around 6.6 cm long (340cm / 52).
The old 3-inch (from the nose to the trailing tip of the rear nascelle) die-cast Landspeeder model manufactured by Hasbro from 2005, and more recently reissued in the Titanium Black range...
...promised to be pretty much spot on! However, when it arrived and I popped it next to an old WotC figure for comparison, it looks ridiculously small!
Where am I going wrong, folks?
Cheers all,
Matt
