When you are the Overlord you get threat for every 2 surges you roll on a successful attack. My question is about Dark Priests and other creatures that I'm not aware of I'm sure that can use surges for other functions. The Dark Priest allows you to gain threat for every surge rolled, it also allows you to increase range and to increase damage. So if I were to roll 3 surges do I gain 3 threat, get +3 Range, and +3 Damage out of the roll?

In the case of Dark Priest that seems to be what the power of Dark Prayer is saying, also if a monster that is using an Item as per the Quest description rolls surges does the Overlord gain threat for the surges and then get to spend the surges to increase the effects of the attack as per the normal rules for using surges with weapons?

I have the same question...i always played them differently...the surges count for threat, always no matter what, AND THEN you can "respend" them for other stuff, but i only have the base and Well of Darkness.

Each surge rolled by a Dark Priest gives the Overlord plus one threat, and also gives the attack plus one range and plus one damage. It's awesome!

Not sure on using items with Monsters though. Given the precedence of Dark Priests, I'd sy you receive threat regardless of how you spend the surges.

In other words, if you spend the surges on items then you can't spend them for Threat.
