New to UFS

By Micah3, in UFS General Discussion

First I want to say thanks to Darklogos for him helping me out.

Second I come here today to get help with a New Players quandry.

I have recently started learning more about the card game having been away from card games since I left Raw Deal Prior to their reset button. I am not in a position to purchase any cards due to Real Life issues however members of my local play group has been kind enough to allow me to play one of their off decks. However I come to you the community in helping me with a deck that have little to no rares/ultra rares/ or promos that I could make from extra card stock of Commons and Uncommons.

So who would be best and why.

I normally liked playing soft control to hard control that's what I loved to play in Raw Deal and the other card games I played. Yoshimitsu I tested for Dark was okay but it seemed that it could have done more but with the meta in our area I can see why it wasn't made off of Void with fear of backlash. I've seen Kisheri but she seems a little squishee for a new player to play so I want to stay away from her at this time. I've played a Kilik deck great concept but can see that it was a deck in testing, somethings just didn't seem to fight.

I have these following cards

Perfect Memory x1

Kilik

White Crane

Kisheri

I think I have more but I won't know until I head back to the store and pick them back up from my play group since I had no place to store them when I was there last week.

Thanks in advanced for any assistance.

Welcome to the game! good to see some new players show up :)

If you like soft controll, maybe you should try to play Lu-chen off life. He clogs both players card pool or play reversals and simply interupts your opponent.

He could easily be played with commons/uncommons.. know when to talk, memories that stain it's armor most off his own support from shadowar.

I had a mate who build a pretty good Lu chen, on paper it did not look like much, but he surprised us all :o and he used mostly lifes Commons and uncommons.. only rare was eiserne drossel actually

Welcome again and hope you will have fun playing

If you like "soft" control, I'd consider Death Zhao Daiyu. She burns the opponent's life (giving her a more intricate form of killing), has perfect synergy with a card known as Proficient Sniper (RFG one of their key cards, burn them for 2 life), and has one of the hands-down greatest character-only attacks ever printed. It's massive pressure, and off Death, you can do such things as play Bad Stomach (a common), Leg Slash (a common), and then play Twilight Embrace followed by Destruction in His Wake. The last two cards are ultra rares, for sure, but I've never seen or heard them being played, and they are definitely tools that should not be overlooked.

If anything else, she's a fun character that is HIGHLY overlooked.

Welcome to the game!

I'm not a control player by any means and prefer to play more aggro. However, personally, I like Kisheri for her 2 abilities that function well together. However, she does lend her self to a more aggressive game of control. As for playing a "squishy" character from the get go, don't worry to much about it, while you may see your games go faster due to the lower life, its a great learning tool for gaging how defensive to be and as blocking becomes much more important to protect your life as opposed to some of the beefier characters out there. But she can also be a good starting place for having a small card pool to choose from. If you go her route Life is the more aggressive build I think and you can get more farely inexpensively via starter decks if you can. Death will be much more control with card offerings from characters like Yoshimitsu.

You could always run your White Crane in a life deck using commons and uncommons. She abuses Lu Chen tech very well, also her R is a very good way to deal with combos.

Thank you all for your assistance..

I do lean heavily to my soft control roots and appreciate all the feedback given. Don't be shy to also suggest aggro heavy characters also.

So to sum it up the suggestions for "soft' control are:

Kisheri

Zhao Daiyu

White Crane

Lu Chen

So for straight aggro if I want cheap deck who would it be?

Ragnar, Mitsurugi, Siegfried, Astrid, basicly every charachter can be run as a cheap aggro charachter.

Ragnar and mitsurugi can run all of fire good and easy to spam commons and uncommon attacks and foundations

Foundations:

Brooding, The strenght within, hope for ones people looking for a thrill, Needs a challenge intimidating presence and All Life is prey etc etc..

Attacks, Cleave, backhanded axeslash, Titan ax, Hades axe, crushing Embrace of jotun

Basicly, the list of cheap and good attacks can be made long, Most attacks right now are really solid

Okay well while at work I looked over Zhao Daiyu's cards and symbols over this block 4 and I must say playing this character just seems cool and could lead to alot of destruction of the opponent. I'm really interested in playing them as a potential main decks as I build up my collection.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

Micah if you want to play Zhoa Diayu talk to ricky he has her character card and some of her cards.
