Single, simple reason: VCXs without both Hera and any turret are flying bricks. 2 out of 3 turns are red. Greens are only so-so. Extremally easy to arc dodge. Aces could win this match without loosing a single HP. The sole reason why cheap VCX works is FCS+Hera that allows you to be both mobile and modify dice.
And 30 points blocker...? Thats little expensive isnt it? Cause that puny 2 dice gun is not worth mentioning ![]()
4 lambdas with manglers are better ![]()
It's worth giving it a try. You'd probably be better off with a Y-Wing or Biggs instead of a WSF so you have points for upgrades on the Ghosts though.
I agree - I've flown the Ghost heaps, and also fly Imperial aces. I took out a Ghost my last game with Soontir by just swinging around the back and pew-pewing from behind. No evade meant I finished it off rather quick. Once the crits start landing, the health can fall dramatically. Chopper is a really good battering ram.
A double VCX with a Y-wing recently won - I'd look for that kinda build. Lots of health still.
