Wave 4 Upgrades: Half-Baked WAGs and Shameless Predictions

By Ardaedhel, in Star Wars: Armada

If it's fore and aft, then Nebulon's will get the nice ability to drive by. You roll at speed 3, take it on the chin from the ISD's front arc...survive...blast him them zoom past. Next round he's getting smack by your 3 reds in the rear (assume he's still in range and all that hub bub.)

I recall a list one of WWPDSteve's boys ran, four Nebulons with B-wings and X-wings...imagine spinal turbolasers on four Nebulons + the Salvation +Yarvis upgrades.

Nebulons are gonna become really useful again, not saying they weren't...but not many were lining up to roll them hardcore.

The Victory could see a comeback with these upgrades...HOWEVER I do like the idea behind "expanded crew quarters"

Nav teams brah...Nav teams....

I often get things wrong, after all :D

Drasnighta has been known to make mistakes. From time-to-time.

I think the Interdictior will be speed 3. 90 points for one version that only really has 1 more engineering, 1 more hull, less shields, and armament. . .

Just a heads up...coolstuffinc is now taking pre-orders for wave 4.

Expected release: August 2016...a month sooner than expected!

Also is states both have two ship cards.

My prediction: Liberty Carrier Command 3, Squadron 4, Engineering 4. One blue dice for defense.

It'd totally be worth a price increase....I'd duel wield them every day of the week.

Squadrons are where the fun is!

.......f**k off auto correct!

Some days, I'm really glad I don't own a Phone...

I make fewer mistakes.

BUT.

The Mistakes I make are bigger, because they are all on my head :D

This is probably true.

Almost certainly speed 2, both because it's an MC80 variant and because we've got evidence that it can take Engine Techs.

As fit Defensive Retrofit, I'm inclined to agree just because we haven't seen any evidence that it can.

The lack of a defensive retrofit is an outright death sentence for a large scale capital ship. ECM is down right vital.

If that ion cannon has an exhaust card effect, I think the stock in ECMs will be plummetting. Bring them and get it ioned, or leave them out and get accuracied. No one wins. Well, except for Worthington Fantasy Flight Games III.

But the statement is, ECM is less a requirement when you have the Redundant Brace.

they gave it double brace instead, I'm telling ya

direct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the defender use ECM prior to a crit taking effect?

Yes.

The trick will be, putting it on a low damage platform, or one who isn't expecting to ACC... Or is...

So you can lock it down even if they choose not to spend it...

Here's what I mean: If an ion cannon exhausts an upgrade, put it on some teensy ship like a CR90B. Sure, you can brace 2 damage all day. But then the crit effect happens, ECM exhausted. Then Liberty/AFMKII/MC30/MC80 dumps a bunch of dice on your ship with its now-useless ECM.

if only engine techs was an exhaust

if only engine techs was an exhaust

It is.

sorry sarcasm but my emoticon didn't post!

Haha, nice

ISD-Is do just fine out here. You really shouldn't just load them up with upgrades like many do with ISD-IIs, but they're all right. The Liberty at least has a redundant Brace which will definitely come in handy.

I've never run an ISD-1...I'll have to try it sometime then.

They make very good brawler carriers. The lack of ECM sometimes hurts, but it's still an ISD. ;)
