For the love of God please let spinals be +2 red to front arc

they would be like 15 points!

I could see +1 to Front and Rear... Just like a 90-Degree'd Enhanced Armament.

2 to the Front... Man, They better be Expensive, because Salvation is drooling.

No that card is much much worse....

I could see that as well, the non broadsider ships need a little love in that department.

Yeah with Salvation that would be NUTS. The price would likely be extremely high as well - I'd guess no less than 16 points if it was just +2 red to the front, considering Expanded Launchers are 13 and there's a 25% cost increase (8 versus 10) from Rapid Reload to Enhanced Armament. The thought of Nebulon-Bs and CR90s with +2 red front arcs is just... gah. That's scary.

Salvation with CF would be nuts. 6 reds outta the front! You know that ain't happening.

I think the fear that comes from those ships is coupled with they normally run with slaved turrets or TRC. In which case you could still roll poorly out of the front arc.

Then again something along those lines would really make running a close range/high activation/fragile ship list risky...which isn't really a bad thing.

I like to look at the larger context behind the cards now, we have 20+ point bids running around now...maybe not all over but it's tempting and hard to compete with...maybe straight up raw firepower is the answer?

Honestly, +2 out of the Front... my Fear goes to Vics with Gunnery Teams.

Because that's Relevant again.

Think about ISDs too.

Think about ISDs too.

ISD's are already scary.

This turns something half the price into an ISD.

Yet under half the hull points? A VERY narrow front arc? Very bad shields on the flanks?

We're talking Victories now.

That Front Arc aint narrow.

Salvation is pretty scary with slaved turrets.

I think he meant Nebs.

The point was made, and it shouldn't be ignored.

That point is "These are Red Dice".

Red dice need some measure of Modification.

Raw Red Dice are scary... Pseudo-Reliable Red Dice are frightening.

Whaaaaat? You mean I can actually use them for something other than carrying starfighters? I didn't know you could do such a thing!

We don't know what most of the upgrades do...

... But I certainly speculate that all ships will be relevant come Wave 4.

That is true. The problem is red dice are very swingy and sheer quantities of them can produce more reliable results. I would primarily be concerned about a Salvation Neb-B producing dice rolls with multiple crits and/or 2 hit results providing for a lot of damage. There's a 55% chance of 1+ red dice in a 6-dice barrage (Neb 3 + upgrade 2 + Concentrate Fire 1) being an Accuracy, so it could get pretty ugly pretty quickly.

I guess my main concern is simply: red dice are much easier to use than black dice, even if they're less reliable overall. Any upgrade that provides more than one red dice in any given arc is potentially dangerous and so I'm cautious about proposing such a thing. I saw what happened early on in wave 2 with Ackbar adding 2 red dice to Assault Frigate conga lines and watching frustrated newbies get buried in red dice while they struggle to come to grips is a demoralizing experience.

I certainly agree... I just frustrate myself.

Like Take the Station last weekend.

MonCal Assault, Enhanced Armament, Leading Shots, with its Objective token, and a Concentrate Fire.

Long Range at the Side of a Victory.

Shot on Turn Two... 7 Red Dice... Three Accs, 6 Damage Total...

Shot on Turn Three... 6 Red Dice (no Confire this time)...

... 2 damage, no accs.

So very Swingy :D

Is it outside the realm of possibility that there is an officer that lets you slap a support teams on a ship that doesn't have support teams? Or would that be too OP with ISDs?

Well, you'd have to ask yourself - "What's the Cost?"

Both in Points and Opportunity...

I mean, Officer is a cost... Gunnery Team Slot would be a more potent Opportunity Cost...

Like say 4 point officer and replaces weapon team slot.
