Storage solution: how do you hold the upgrade and pilot cards?

By GeneticDrift, in X-Wing

Where do the actual ships, plastic bases, and rods go?

The Plastic. So Crunchy.

(My dogs (labs) are like, "Please drop one...")

I was going to buy one of these for the upgrade cards http://www.thebrokentoken.com/mini-american-card-case/

But international shipping would have been ridiculous.

That is quite nice, I shall have a proper look when I get on my computer later.

International shipping could be a problem but my OCD really like the look of that storage option.....hmmm

Oh you're from Chch too, high five! Maybe we could convince Chris to import some :D

Ultimate Guard mini-american binders for the sleeved upgrades and Ultra-Pro side-loader for sleeved pilots. Plano for tiles, bases, and tokens. Custom foam for the ships. I picked up a nice pocket 3 ring binder for my HotAC book, cards and terrain which actually works great. I use storage tubs to stack it all in.

I have no problem fitting mine into my Planos. The customizing lends well to fit in anything. I keep out the pilots though, or I'd need an extra box and I got plenty, heh.

Upgrade cards go in two of the miniamerican flexfolios. My pilot cards go in two clear plastic card boxes.

I used to use a couple of the fold up cardboard card boxes, with foam padding cut to keep the upgrade cards from rattling around, but my collection outgrew it.

I had a ring binder for a while, but I dropped it and the rings got out of whack. Never lined up again.

That's a good call. I will try and find the time to head into town and ask him, I've been meaning to head in to apologize for not showing up for his store champs.

I need to pick up some more side loading deck boxes too, he has the best card game related selection in chch.

Are you in the Facebook group out of interest?

Im tempted to buy a bunch of these mini card storage boxes (if Chris won't) they would be very handy for many other FFG games that I have like Talisman, Descent and TI..... I hate to think how many FFG mini cards I own

Yup, sure am. I might be interested in going in on a bulk purchase, depending on how funds are

Upgrade card storage? Of course this way, made out of cardstock:

I really hate reorganizing binders, gave it a try, it sucks...

Available in english, as well, if you're interested:

I use Mini American pages from Ultimate Guard for upgrade cards, while my pilots reside in an old Ultra Pro binder. Planning to move them all to the same binder eventually, I just need to get my local shop to order some nine pocket pages.

I use this to store the 1 million extra Proton Torpedo and R2 Astro cards I've got :) Very useful

I put my pilots in zip-lock bags by ship type. I then add the maneuver dial for that ship, extra base cards, unique titles and appropriate tokens. Upgrades are stored in smaller ziplock bags by type.

That means when I want to play a particular ship, I pick up the corresponding bag and everything I need for that ship (minus) upgrades are all in one place. I have compartments in my fleet boxes to store these ziplocks which keeps life simple. It seems a lot faster than sorting through a folder to find the correct set of cards before each game.

I keep everything in a binder (black Ultimate Guard sideloading pages, 3x3 for pilot cards and 4x4 for upgrades), and generally just take out whatever I need when I'm packing light.

I use 3 binders one for each faction. The ultra pro upgrade card sheets work great. you can also use coin slot pages for the ship base templates if you like. i used to store them in my battlefoam cases but figure why waste valuable foam space for something that doesn't need much protection. I also use zip binders for added protection.

Organised by color. Black pages for empire, red for rebels, greennfor scum.

Sleeves are the same way but I use brown sleeves for the scum.

A few extra empty pages to expand into. With a couple exceptions it's one ship per page, or two if there's very few pilots.

I like it better than the deck boxes I was using. It's nice to page through and see all the pilots.

The binder pages have no problem with sleeved cards. The upgrades pages fit four or five with sleeves in each slot to handle multiples.

I was wondering if anyone had problems with the binders bending cards near the rings. I am not sure if it's a common issue with loose pages or just something that happens over time.
