I'm about 99.99% certain you're wrong. Given that tomorrow is tuesday, and they're street dating now, so presumably we'll know beforehand when it will release. And it's not switched to shipping yet anyway....

Yes but I've heard from a source or two that it just got announced to have the same street date as a couple other FFG items, which is THursday, like Descent and Imperial Assault stuff, all launching Thursday.

Also Coolstuff just updated their release date for it this afternoon to say "May 2016", and since stuff never launches on a weekend, that would pretty much make it Thursday or Friday if they are gonna be accurate.

What was the total boat-->release time for wave 8? I think that's the new Asmodee standard.

Nearly six months I think, but I'm 99% sure that that was down to the Ghost's flight stand. I'm convinced (with no evidence other than the stand itself) that it was initially supposed to ship with either normal stick stands or an Epic ship stand, but they got production proofs and couldn't stop it snapping off, so it had to be re-engineered, and for some reason that happened after the 'boat' date.

I'm still hoping for Vets to drop before the end of May, but less vehemently than I was now that it's not legal for Yavin. Meh, it being legal would probably have meant I couldn't run an all-custom-painted squad at Yavin, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

Usual estimate for boat time is four to six weeks as the Upcoming page suggests (I think it used to be six to eight, actually), then usually around a week for shipping time, but a lot of people think Asmodee are being firmer in enforcing a worldwide (or US and EU) street date which delays everything to match the slowest boat rather than getting releases started early.

As noted, I'd hope to see it delivered next week, maybe earlier.

people don't understand global logistics..... with customs and excise (spelling) around the world. its not like some small item from e bay in china thats stuck in the post and a few day latter. I wonder how many shipping containers go to the Americas let alone the EU and Asia just for one wave

Since FFG doesnt make these things locally they have to order them ahead of time, i.e. predict sales and have them made/delivered accordingly. Considering how long it takes for them to distribute a shipment, they have to factor that in too.

I wouldnt be surprised if the majority of a tanker was FFG's stuff upon release to a given region. If not more.

The tantalizing feature is the predictions posted by FFG. I know that anticipation will often increase demand for a product. But, I wish that the announcement was not until closer to release, and, thereby increasing a prediction's accuracy. I know logistics take time, as well as production and distribution, but, I just would be happier not knowing what's not even going to be available for such a long time. Or, have FFG just say it will be out next year.

I'm not complaining abut the design-to print-to ship-to shelves time. It's the maddening anticipation. Which is my own flaw to deal with.
