Just Another Session Report

By Ghost XV15, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

This weekend my EotE group, consisting mostly out of newbies and others that haven't played RPGs in a long time (including me) tried the Beginner Box.

We have 4 PCs:

  • Iryani, a charming Twi'lek Scoundrel who worked for Teemo and wrecked his Ship and therefore has to flee from the consequences.
Furthermore she is a survivor of Order 66, but keeps this a well hidden secret.
  • Fes Motan, a Human Scout who used to be a corellian professor (the Indiana Jones vibe is real) however he discovered some secret Project of the Empire.
Since then the constant pursue by the responsing Moff has forced him into the Outer Rim, where he searched for new business opportunities for Teemo, however he wishes to terminate his contract with the Hutt.
  • Klesskk'Racra is a Trandoshan Bodyguard who used to work for Teemo so he would get closer to a Clanbrother who betrayed him and nullified his Jagganath points.
Klesskk, however treated an acquaintance of Teemo a bit too rash and would be sent into the Hutts Gladiator Pitt.
  • HK-51 used to be Teemos Protocolldroid and a Trophy, as he is an antique Modell of incredible wealth, what nobody knows is that the Protocolldroid has numerous Assassination-Protocolls. HK follows the group as he sees his talents wasted with the Hutt and sees an opportunity to ''terminate hostilities with the utmost efficiency''

As they arrived at the Cantina Iryani was the first to take action, she calmly went over to two Scoundrels, while they did not resist her, they made loud and vulgar statements about the Twi'lek.

Klessk jumped over the Bar and kicked the door of the storeroom in, destroying in the process leaving him in the open.
HK calmly walked to group of travelers and offered to help tranlate between the species, which was a welcome addition,
Fes hesitated but decided to sit at the Bar and order a drink, hiding in plain sight.

As the Gamorreans arrived, they spotted the Trandoshan and attacked
While the Droid fled, like the other guests, the rest choose to stand and fight, while Fes gained the element of surprise.
Not long after the group defeated the pigfaced Brutes and the Devaronian Barkeeper told them about the Krayt Fang and it's replacement part, waiting at the Junkyard.

The group didn't want to waste time, so they decided to go to the Junkyard.
There neither the Iryanis charme, nor Klessks intimidating appearance showed any results, the old man wouldn't sell the spare part and threatened to call the guards, Teemos guards. so the Trandoshan snapped and punched the old man, knocking him out, potentially killing him.
A sharp comment about the temper and limited intelligence of Trandoshans from HK and about half an hour later they found the piece and made their way to the Spaceport-Controlcentre to release the clamps which are grounding the Krayt Fang.

On their way they were intercepted by a group of Stormtroopers, while another flanked them.
While Klessk gave supressing fire, Iryani and HK fled the way they came, taunting the Troopers.
Fes used this to climb on the roof of some building and jumping from roof to roof, in the opposite direction and the Troopers lost track of him.
While HK ran to the Scrapyard, hiding as scrap Metal, the Twi'lek, who is now followed closely by the Trandoshan, bribed some salesman to give false information about her whereabouts, while Klessk simply forced a trader to hide him.

After some time the group meets at the SPCC, time Fes used to scout the building and he spotted a sidedor , which is, unlike the front door, not guarded.
Now united, the droid lockpicked the door open.
Inside they were able to observe the situation and spotted the Shuttle the Troopers probably landed with.
HK proceeded to greet Overseer Brynn and inform her that Trex, the owner of the Krayt Fang, whishes to take off, a deception that worked flawlessly.

Since the group was affraid to confront the Empires Elite again, they stormed to the Aurek Space Port, and finally seeing the Krayt Fang with their own eyes, a YT-1300 Corellian Freighter, guarded by 4 Droids, which want to know the groups business.
As they showed the sparepart and explained that they are here to install it, the droids let them pass.
Abord the ship, they met Trex, who believes the group, but misstrusts them, he, however remembers Klessk as one of Teemos men and believes that he is here to oversight the mechanics, a route which Klessk uses to distrackt Trex, by sharing stories of great hunts.

As the three finished the installation (with alot of luck) Trex went offboard to organise some credits, he trusted the ship to Klessk and two of the Droids.
When Fes and Iryani started the engines, Klessk and HK tryed to convince the Droids that there was a noise outside, one did not fall for the route.
A heated disscussion errupted between HK and the Security Droid, about whose Sensors are broken and which one is a bigger heap of Junk.
This is when HK lost his nerve ''Assasination Protocolls: active'' he shot a salvo into the droid, which managed to shoot back, this is when the Pilots decided to take off.

When the security droid was destroyed, the Krayt Fang was attacked by two Tie Fighters, but since the spare Part was installed, the group only needed two rounds to jump into Hyperspace, a time in which they shot the closest two TIEs down.

Well this was the first session atleast.
It was a bit cluncky, I need to check some rules and I messed some things up, but that's what the Begginer Set is for, I believe, it was a fun experience however.

That is indeed exactly what the Beginner Set is for. Sounds like a great first session. Good luck with your future games.

Thanks, I will post a summary of the following sessions aswell :)

I got alot of positive feedback from the players and everyone is motivated

So we just finished another Session, Act I of long Arm of the Hutt to be exact.
Sadly Iryani's Player was not able to attend, but since she is part of my Core-group I managed to take over her role.

The group just entered Realspace, as they noticed all the problems abord the Krayt Fang.
The flashing symbols that appeared on the Nav-computer, the loud Alarm combined with the grunting and squealing sound of a gammorean Opera-song irritated even HK-51.
Suddenly the group noticed a disgusting smell that did not affect HK and Klessk.

While Fes and Iryani managed to deactivate the Opera Music, Klessk translated one of the Pop-ups on the Nav Computer, which stated that there are Wookiepelts in the main cargo hold.
However before they did anything about it HK and Klessk checked the ship, while Fes and Iryani fixed the Nav-Computer.
A quick search of both the main cargo hold by Klessk did not reveal anything, while HK managed to find Droid-Parts which could be used to build an Astromech, however he was not able to estimate the value of the parts, he also found some Tools.

A search of the thrid Cargo hold revealed B’ura B’an, a Twi'lek prisoner of Trex, who missed one Lekku.
While Klessk asked him what happened to his Lekku, he said that Trex did this and explained that he was part of an organisation that fought the offworlders who tried to take over the Ryll-Spice mining on Ryloth, the Twi'lek home world.
As B’ura B’an asked about the stories of the two, Klessk lied that they are the replacement and tried to be all intimidating.
Around this time Fes and Iryani silenced the alarm which noticed them about the fuel shortage, also they found out about the Prisoner, as the Bounty-Hunter-Software that was installed opened a Pop-up in several Languages and informed them about a prisoner.
Iryani directly went to see for him after reading that and noticing voices speaking.

While Klessk and HK further lied, she simply dismissed this deception and ordered her fellow Twi'lek to be freed.
Who thanked her and infromed her about the situation on Ryloth and how he would gladly help repair their ship, fuel it and offer them somewhere to stay, if they'd drop him at Nabat. Otherwise for free.
Klessk and HK did not believe this offer, while Iryani noticed by the spare nonverbal communication of B'ura B'ans single Lekku that he was telling the truth.

Soon after that B'ura B'an mentioned the smell, this was when the group decided to check the rest of the ship.
HK looked into the Crew Quarters, which revealed a Wampapelt, 1000 Credits, which HK took for himself, and some spare Clips and Glowingsticks which he gave the group.

Klessk in return found the Wookiepelts rather fast, which still need tanning to be done.
However instead of throwing them out of the airlock, Klessk offered to further prepare them and sell them at high prices, which everyone agreed on.
Also he found rarions for 3 Days in the kitchen.

At this moment Fes hailed Klessk or HK over the commlink, as the last pop up showed another text in Trandoshan.
This information informed the group about the tracking device, which sent a signal every 5 seconds.
While Fes was not able to deactivate it, he increased the intervall length to 30min.

After that they jumped into hyperspace and shared their finds.

When they dropped out of Hyperspace, they gazed upon the Dessertplanet of Ryloth and landed at Nabat without any problems.
B'ura B'an explained that the Staff is trustworthy and would tend to the ship, as he led the group into the undergroud network, which is the main part of the city.
Aside from cheap Shops which hold nothing of interest, Fes infromed himself about Imperial activity on Ryloth, which nobody knows anything about, as all the offworlders are interested in the Ryll-Spice and the Empire hold no such interest.

Soon the group reached a metal door, where B'ura exchanged codewords.
And soon they entered the HQ of B'uras organisation where they were greeted with joy about B'uras unexpected return and offered a deal, aout the transportation of Spice, as soon as the Mines are under Twi'lek controll again.
Furthermore they asked for a favor, to bring B'ura to New Meen and to help the townspeople with the offworlders.

The group agreed eagerly and informed themselves about the interest of different pelts.
While they hesitated to mention the Wookiepelts at first, they soon noticed that the Twi'leks got bigger problems than a Trandoshan skinning Wookies and they offered to trade them at the black market if they help the people of New Meen.

The next morning the group was smuggled out of the town and made their way to New Meen with a Speeder from the organisation.
After several hours they had to slow the speeder, as they risked crashing into random rocks and as they approached a rocky cliff, Fes scanned the surroundings with a scanner found on the ship and noticed life signs and also spottet the head of an insectoid being.

So he decided to check the opening of the cliff together with Klessk out, as they heared a man shouting ''Stop, Imperial patrol here, you are under suspicion of smuggling spice. Drop your weapons''
With the information gathered earlier, Fes decided to not believe the Bounty Hunters and jumped to cover together with Klessk.
As Klessk and HK gave covering fire, Fes and Iryani flanked the Hunters and forced them to retreat into the cave like opening of the cliffside, after killing the Gand.

As they fell one by one and retreated deeper into the cave the group persued them, while Fes walked along the cliffside, cutting their escape route
However a familliar face appeared, Trex, who fought Klessk in hand to hand combat, but was eventually stunned by Fes, while HK aimed to kill him and even Klessk wanted to spare him the fate of loosing his points, both Fes and Iryani, who HK thinks is his master decided to capture him.
While Klessk does not care that much about other Trandoshans, he took Trex eye as a crude trophy.
Klessk is deeply religous, so his drive is not entirely sure, maybe it was a random act of violence, or a desperate attempt to regain his points, maybe it was to give Trex the drive to seek Klessk out and kill him at some point.

However after B'ura notified them that it would turn dark soon and that there could live dangerous predators in the cave, the group decided to arrived at New Meen and with the return of their leader, the Twi'leks would praise the group as heroes.
They explained their position, that a human businessman by the name of Drombb is making the life of the Twi'leks hard under the cover of building some hotel.
After collecting information while eating a meal, they decided to help the townsfolk out, but would rest the night.

HK stood guard as a group of three Humans and an Aqualish thug drove a bulldozer through a building.
As they told the PCs to give them their speeder Klessk started shooting, enraged by the senseless and honourless behaviour.
A shootout started, where only one human survived, as Fes was blinding the thugs with a glowstick and the last one surrendered.
As he was briefly interrogated he was left with the Twi'leks and the group went on, with some volunteers, armed with the thugs pistols, to end Drombbs tyrany.

They approached the ''construction site'' of Drombb openly and were intercepted by thugs, who soon retreated into the Cantina.
As they were besieged by Twi'lek, Iryani tried to shoot the door controll-panel to trap the Thugs inside the cantina, while she hit it, the door closed only half and the Twi'leks stormed the Cantina.
As 4 Thugs died, Drombb surrendered and the Twi'leks looted the place except for a safe.

During this time HK searched the barracks, finding them empty but searched Drombbs Terminal, finding useless documents and two E-Mails sent to Teemos Kubatz spy.
Then he returned to the cantina to see how things went, trying to open the safe, without success.
After interrogating Drombb, Klessk got every bit of information he knew about Teemos plans and the Key to the safe aswell.

And they partied the whole night.
The end.

We stopped there as it was quite late and concentration was dwindling during the end, but it was fun and everything went smoother as I got most rules down this time around.
Hope to hear some thoughts on the group :D

I see that the interest in this topic is not quite on pair with my expectations, however I understand that the Internet is quite saturated from Beginner-Box Session Reports.

I will keep this Report up however and document the whole run of my group, so it will get exciting at some point, I promise ;)
This way other new GMs will maybe find a way to incorporate the different Adventures into one long campaign and we'll hopefully get an example on a EotE run, be it a good or a bad example at that.

See you the next time around, which will probably be next Friday and may the Credits be with you

I remember that cave (in another game), and I remember my Wookiee killing that Gand with his vibro-axe.

I remember that they had been using Stun damage up to that point, and my Wookiee was just one point away from his Strain Threshold. But after one-shotting the Gand, the rest of the attackers decided to switch to doing killing damage, at which point it was an easy mop up session. There were a couple who got driven into the cave, which we later found out was home to …

A Lylek mother and her babies.

The fearsome beast killed and ate the attackers who had been stupid enough to run into the cave, while the rest of us quietly and slowly turned around and left.

We would come back to that cave later, with rather more mercenary intent, and much better equipped to handle the … residents. ;)

Sounds fun :D

Up to this point I left it up for interpretation which kind of damage they deal, as only Bosses recieve Strain Damage.

I decided to not use the monster, as I wanted to use Trex for later in the Game :P

So we had our latest session yesterday and it started after one week of party due to the victory of the Twi'leks.

As the group decided to return to Nyn, they noticed that Trex fled, but decided to not pursue him.
At Nabat the group decided to go shopping for a bit before seeing Nyn, while Iryani decided to look out for anything suspicious, she did not notice the Kubaz spying at them.
After they stocked up they met with B'ura B'an at the entrance to the HQ of his organisation and were greeted by a very happy Nym who however introduced them to Ota, an elegant Bothan man.
He informed the group that Teemo set out a Bounty of 50k Credits for the group, but offers a plan to see to the Hutts end.

The group would travel to Geonosis to go on a private party of Lord Piddock, who wants to participate in the off-world economy.
There they should collect information about a deal between Teemo and Piddock and why it did not happen, this information should be used to get Dimmock to stop dealing with the Hutt aswell.
From there they should infiltrate Teemos palace and deal with him once and for all, as a reward, the group would get the money for their bounty transfered to their bank accounts.

For this all to work they need a cover at the party, since Piddock thinks Ota is a weapons merchant and that they go in his name, the group decided to pretend to be offshoots of Otas business, from there Nyn offered 3.000 Credits to buy some weapons for her organisation to fight further offworlders who want to exploit the Twi'lek.
As the plan was settled Ota leaved and Nyn informed the group that they found buyers on the black market which would pay up to 300 credits for a finished wookie pelt and 250 for the Wampa pelt, so Klessk bought tanning knifes to prepare the wookie pelts.
Furthermore Fes sold the Bounty Hunters Speeder to Nym, all in all the group made about 3750 Credits.

The next morning Ota gave the group the last few details, after that they flew to Geonosis.
There they entered the Cantina-ish room, obviously created for Offworlders.
Gigantic guards stood at the doors and hold impressive guns, which caught Klessks and HKs interest.
The room was large and a band played Jazz, while a Drone mixed drinks behind a barcounter, at the Bar sat a slim human woman in a black leather dress, who talked to Piddock.
Not far away stood a Protocol Droid, who was often used by a Gand, who sat in a corner, to communicate with other guests.
A human couple was toasting with cocktails, obviously in good mood, while a Toydarian was flying around talking to pretty much everyone.
Then there was also a Sullustan who just listened to the music.

First they decided to say hello to the host, who greeted them kindly, but excused himself for the moment, as he talked with the Lady in black.
So Fes decided to talk to the human couple, Orpa and Wex Vio, he quickly noticed that they were, just like himself from Corellia, so they found commongroud really fast.
They talked about ships, Navigation routes and as Fes heared that they would deliver cargo to Tattooine the next day, he gave them an optimal Route that he knows, which would get him a favor with the siblings.

During this time Iryani found interest in the Sullustan, who pollitely asked her to come back later, when the band does not play, which she fully understood, so she went to the Bar.
There she ordered a typical Cocktail with ingredients from Ryloth, a very fruty and sweet drink, Klessk found the preparation of it interesting and ordered one aswell overwhelmed by the taste, as his carnivorous pallet never tasted such a taste and he was not quite sure if he liked it or if it was a drink for prey.
Fes joined them and ordered corellian brandy, for himself and for the siblings, to strengthen the friendship, furthermore he told HK, that he could speak with ''his Droid Buddy'', pointing at BG-222, the Geonosian protocol Droid.
BG, noticed that and engaged the group, irritating them with the speech module, which described everything from the point of view of an insect and had a buzzing sound.
After they got short descriptions of the guests, they noticed that Piddock was free for conversation.
As they approached Piddock, they came quickly to business, which pleased Piddock, so he bid them into one of the Separees.
Tere Klessk asked about the impressive weapons of the Guards and Piddock gave them an overview of the weapons capabilities and costs, after Iryani bartered a 10% discount, the group decided to buy one of each (the Karbine for HK, the Blastergun and the Pistol for Nyn)
After that the group asked Piddock about his relations of Teemo and showed him the Chitin plate and the informations from Drombbs Datapad, the Geonosian took the actions of the Groups as a token of good will and, while he cared little for his drone, he shared that Teemo wanted to buy some B1-Battledroids, Shematics and Parts and that the deal blew, because Teemo employed a Kubaz Spy.

With this information the group decided to move on. Klessk who had a bad feeling about the Gand, decided to talk to Vrixx'tt and took HK with him for translation reasons.
Asking what his dealings are, the Gand answered that he is part of an Insectoid Rights Organisation, so Klessk decided to tell him about Teemos cruel crimes against the Geonosian drone, corrupting Teemos reputation, but Vrixx'tt did not care at all. Irritated, Klessk left the Gand.

Iryani sought the Sollustan out, again, who talked with her about his love for Jazz, but nothing of interest, he is after all a shy man.

Frustrated. Iryani decided tackle the
Toydarian, flirting with him, as she knows exactly what pleases such vulgar beings.
Anatta did not make a secret of his ties to Jabba and his job as Information broker, so the group went into a Separee with him to deal with information.
The group bought information about Teemo, his relation to Jabba and noticed that with the right proof, Jabba would not be happy about his relatives moves against him and do something about it.
However they also sold the information that Teemo wants to buy B1-Battledroids from the Geonosians, for which they got the free info that there is a Hutt which would be more that happy to see Teemo locked away or dead, Bargos the Hutt.
Then the group struck a deal, if they find enough proof, Anatta would give it to Jabba and pay them for their efford.
Furthermore the group found out that Mu Nanb (the Sullustan) bought a ludicrous ammount of weapons for some organisation and that Maru Jakkar (the human woman) is a Droid racist and is here to buy antiques.

With those information, Fes thought he could maybe get to know Ms Maru abit, as they share an interest for antiques, but he did not manage to get her attention and she asked him to leave her alone, as he persisted to stay, Klessk moved him aside and stayed, with some space to Maru, at the bar, where she thanked him.
As she finds aliens interesting, even Klessk with his non existent charisma managed to break the ice.
He and Iryani found out that Vrixx’tt is a known Bountyhunter and that Teemo goes to great lengths to get B1-Battledroid parts, the group concludes that he wants to build his own army of Rip-Off-B1-Droids.

The frustrated Fes, shared a drink with his Corellian friends and as the others joined they made a deal to be transported to Tatooine for only 250 Credits per person.

Lastly Fes and Iryani confronted Mu Nanb for the last time, mentoning the ammounts of weapons he bought and finding common ground with the hate for the Empire.
He said he would be greatfull if they deal with him, as he works with the Empire and got Mus friends arrested, but could not help with the Teemo problem.
If they, however, somehow manage to deal with the Hutt, he ensured that he has powerfull friends, who would help them if they ever run into major problems with the Empire.

The party slowly met it's end and the group contacted Ota and informed him about the deal with Anatta, which pleased the Bothan greatly, as he was affraid that killing the Hutt was the only way.
Also he was happy to hear that the group managed to make a deal with the Corellians to transport them to Tatooine, so they don't have to hijack the ship.
Afterwards the Weapons were brought to the Krayt Fang, other than that the night was calm, even though HK stood guard in case the Bounty hunter decided to attack.

The next morning the Group had an audience with Lord Dimmock, who is not interested to terminate a promising deal and only listens to them because he owns Ota a favour.
The group was polite and mentioned all of the crimes that Teemo did:
His Kubaz spy, who killed a Drone of Piddock.
The mails between the Spy and Drombb, detailing this act and showing the repugnance against the Geonosians
His plan to create B1-Rip-Offs
And his collaboration with the Empire, while the group hates the Empire.

Dimmock was convinced, so much even that he wants the Hutt dead and promises the group to reach the Ship of the Vio siblings without problems.

However on the way there they encountered Vrixx'tt.
Not willing to fight so close to the Lord and becoming a target for his anger, Iryani decided to talk to Vrixx'tt.
He did not fall for her charme, but gave them a week headstart for 500 credits.

The group boarded the ship and that's it.

I was surprised how well the group handeled the situation, I honestly thought they would fail in a mostly social session, but they did almost everything the ''perfect way''
With that I also tied in the adventure, Debts to Pay, which will be the next adventure, where Bargos will sent them out to check a mine for him.
He will probably be the main money income for the next sessions to follow aswell.

As allways happy about any thoughts you guys might have ;)

These are really fun to read. It sounds like you have a fun group of players there, keep up the great work!

These are really fun to read. It sounds like you have a fun group of players there, keep up the great work!

Thanks, I'm glad you like it, the group is really great to work with !

I'll definetly keep this report updated and we'll probably play through most adventures.

However it might take some time untill we get to the next session, as I have alot of work to do at the moment <_<

I sadly report to you guys that there will be a rather large break.
Sadly one of the PCs has to write many tests comming months, or is busy otherwise, after that I will write my tests.

I will try to squeeze in a session or two, but don't count on it.
However after the tests most of us have holidays, so there should be plenty of time for Star Wars ;)

We just finished our first session after a longer break, well taking care of University stuff is really annoying.

The renegades were on the way to Tatooine abord the Glücksritter (we play on German, allright), the freighter of the Vio siblings.
Smithing plans on how to infiltrate the palace of Teemo, the crew decided that after they entered the palace, they'd split up into two groups, one would slice into Teemos Servers and gather information, while the other group would create a diversion by releasing the gladiators and start an uprising.
The Vios offered that they could jump into a container of Droids, that was planned for Teemo, to which they agreed, as it would get them close to their objectives, since the receiving department of Teemos is located inside the palaces workshop, which is connected to the serverrooms and the gladiator cages (because the Gladiators get stiched up in the work shop aswell)

Now that the plan was clear, everyone prepared for the upcomming task.
Arriving is Mos Shutta, the group cleared one of the boxes of any Battle Droids and jumped right in.
When they were delivered, they waited a few moments and made sure nobody was in the room they were in, then they jumped out of the box.
The room was empty, except for a medical droid, which was not interested in the group and as Fes tried to get it to give him a few free medical goods, it diagnosed him as healthy and ignored him from then on.
A quick search of the room rewarded the group with a toolbox, a few repairkits, stimpacks, glowsticks, three vibroaxes and three blastercarbines.
Furthermore they found proof of Teemos work on building a droid army in form of a Datapad showing scematics and a reproduction diary.

After that the group split up, Klessk and HK went to the Gladiator Cells, there they encountered four gladiators, two human and two aqualish (I thought about adding a Wookiee, but I decided to avoid the tention)
While trying to ralley the Gladiators, Klessk noticed that they were relatively loyal to Teemo, but they would fight for him if he gave them 250 Credits each, to which he replied with a thread that they would fight for him or die by his hands.
The gladiators, not that strong willed, decided against certain death and helping the group.
For that three recieved a Vibroaxe and one had to go in bare handed.

Meanwhile Iryani and Fes sliced the Server.
They searched for information what Teemo is planing with the Droid Army, but found no new information.
After a failed slicing attempt for connections to Jabba and Teemos Ryll-Spice operations, the server shut down and an alarm started.
Both ran to hide in the Box they arrived in, while Iryani made it, Fes did not, but managed to hide between the Battle Droids, standing near the Door to the Serverroom.
Two Guards looked into the Serverroom and silenced the alarm, while one decided to search the workshop for intruders.
It was then that Klessk contacted Fes through the Commlink what the Alarm was about, giving his position away to the guard.
A rolled Despair in initiative caused the Guard to nearly gun Fes to death with a salvo from a Blaster cabine, he however replied with a headshot, killing the guard instantly.

Klessk and HK ran to the Workshop as they heared the shooting, commanding the Gladiators to attack the Guards that are about to close in.
Fes fixed himself up real quick and in the turmoil of a Gladiator uprising they carged into the Throneroom, covered by a crowd of scared guests.
Teemos personal guard tightend up quite a bit and the Throne room was fortified, so the group waited at the Bar the uprising was put down and looked for an alternative to get information for framing Teemo.
Inside the Throne room the crowd calmed quickly, partially due to the Tatooine Blues, played by a Bith Band broken up by many Soli of the Kloohornist.
While HK and Iryani noticed the chandelier hanging above Teemos head, they decided to first gather infromation, to be safe of Jabbas wrath.

After quite some time, long after the turmoil of the Gladiator attack settlet, Iryani noticed that the the band stopped playing and that Teemo ordered a drink and then visited a booth together with the Kloohornist and a Protocol droid.
Finding it quite suspicious, Iryani decided to try listening on what they are talking about, but couldn't make anything out, so she searched for information on the Hornist.
Turns out that ''Smooth'' is quite a star on Tatooine and even plays for Jabba on a regular basis.
Putting the pieces together, she decides to get more information, so she waits and not too long after, the Bith would go out of the booth to visit the toilet.
On the way back, Iryani intercepted Smooth, and flirted a bit with him, how he is such a great musician and if it was true that he also plays at Jabbas place.
As he answered that that's true, she actually managed to squeeze the information out that Smooth is spying on Jabba for Teemo (it was a very hard charm check, so every bit of information was well earned)

With those information the group decided to contact Anatta, Jabbas Informationbroker, the group made the deal with back on Geonosis, who settlet in the local Cantina.
He decided that together with the evidence from Ryloth they would have enough dirt on Teemo to get rid of him for good, so he told them to get back as he got a bonus for them.

Arriving at the local Cantina the Devaronian Barkeeper remembers the group well and is not amused about them arriving, but does not say anything as he knows that they are dealing with Teemo.
Anatta gave every party member 500 Creds and told them to enjoy the show, so after some time Bounty hunters stormed Teemos palace and escorted the Hutt at gunpoint to his sailbarge.
He would never be seen again.
We had to rush a bit, so I recapped rather fast that they returned to Geonosis with the help of the Vio siblings, there they got the Krayt Fang and returned to Ryloth, Nym was really greatfull for opening trading with the Geonosian and getting rid of Teemo while helping the locals out, so she offered a long term Spice smuggling deal.
While the Bothan, whose name I forgot, send the group the money from their bounty, as promised, which would be 12.500 credits.

Also the group has a new crew member, the droid parts from the krayt fang made up a little Astromech, with the designation R5-T1 (If they'll figure out that ''Rusty'' makes for a great nickname?) furthermore Nym decided to not charge anything for it.

So this is the introduction, next time it'll get serious and Obligation will come into effect. Oh well, who knows what adventures wait for out unlikely heroes? ;)
As allways, I'm greatfull for any comments, the next session will come sooner, promise.

Oh and as a little extra, I've drawn every character:

Iryani

Fes Motan

HK-51

Klessk'Racra

So, yesterday we wrapped the last session, the big difference this time was, that Obligation came into effect and it just so happens to be Iryanis Obligation that was rolled, which is a perfect tie in into Debts to Pay, from the Game Masters Kit.

Now that our beloved group of unlikely friends has a long-term Smuggling deal with the Twi'leks of Ryloth, they often find themselves on Formos, as it connects two Hyperspaceroutes.
A few weeks after the event with Teemo, where they stocked up on weapons, armor, gadgets and equipptment, they find themselves inside a Cantina on this planet, slurping Shots (HK decided to engage into a heated debate with R5-T1) and killing off time.
It is then that a Protocolldroid, flanked by two hulking Gamorreans, engages the group to forward a Message, in which Bargos the Hutt would like to meet them in person to make them an offer, they can't refuse.

So they made off to Bargos mansion to meet with the Hutt. They heared rumors that a Disruptor Pistol nearly killed Bargos in his younger days and that Genko, a Toydarian deals with most of the day to day business of his organisation and it was him that lead the group to Bargos office.

There the Group saw that the roumors were true, since half of Bargos face was twisted by scar tissue, also he was thinner and slimier than most Hutts.

Bargos starts by praising the accomplishments of the group and he has an offer by which they could make easy money.

He aquired an Oridium Mine, near Nal Hutta and whishes the its value to be determined to have his first 100.000 Credits cut delivered. In return the group would get a 10% cut.

The group, sensing a catch, ask kindly why they would be send for such a task, to which the Hutt replies that Teemo was a rival to him and he wanted to reward the group, by giving them a chance for easy money, furthermore a dear friend of Iryani, Corso Riggs, has forwarded a favour, she owes him, to Bargos.
They also mentioned two suspicious Gamorreans outside the Mansion, to which Bargos nervously replied that he'll look into it, after he's done with the Group.

After they asked a few more questions, six Gamorreans storm the Room and engage the two Gamorreans that guard Bargos in combat.
The group notices that the Gamoreans fight with fists only and that they seem to ignore everyone who is not Gamorrean, furthermore this is typicall Gamorrean behaviour. However, they still placed themselves between Bargos and the fight, to fulfill his Genkos demand for protection.
After the loyal guards are nocked out and the winners squeal at Bargos, which HK translates as ''Something about getting payed'' after they left, Bargos stresses the importance of returning the Credits.

Bargos gave the group accurate coordinates to the Mine on Gavos and the travel was uneventfull and they easily found the Gavos, a planet dominated by a horrific storm.
Scanner reveal that the atmosphere is higly toxic, consisting out of ammonia and methane, furthermore they detect lifesigns from under the planets surface and working electronics, indicating the position of the Mine and in a radius of hundred kilometers around that leaves a calm center.

As they approach the Mine, they were greeted by an automated message, announcing that the mine is closed to visitors and leading them to a Landingpad.

Leaving the ship, they decided to leave R5-T1, whom the dubbed Rusty (They got it!) behind and entered the facillity, which seems to be empty.

Shortly after they entered, they hear an automated message, warning them about the failing of Storm Barrier Generator 4, however the remaining units are able to compensate.
Inside the dark reception office, near the entrance, Fes used a Glow stick and found a dark stain on the floor which he indentified with the help of a scanner as trandoshan blood. Klessk on the other hand managed to identify scorchmarks on the window to be blaster shots.

From there they moved through the facillity, searching the Miners Quarters, with still no sign of life, they pushed deeper until they eventually found the main office.
There they searched the paperwork and the computer for information, which revealed that the worth of the mine is gradually falling, due to a ''fast money'' approach, by the last owner.

Furthermore they found a map of the building, a full list of every miner, droid, the history of repairs made to the droids and access to the camera feeds.
These show a droid leaving the facility, shortly before the group arrived.
A Trandoshan fleeing and being gunned down, but no sign of the attacker.
A Ship landing at another Landingpad, where a Sullustan welcomes a EV-Droid into it
Miners entering the Mine

The latter two feeds ended prematurely.

Having a map, the group decided to head back to check the canteen, however on the way there they decided to check the refreshers on the Korridor and found the corpse of a Trandoshan, sitting on the toilet seat.

Now with drawn weapons, they entered the cantina, where they found a happy cooking droid and four dead men sitting at a table. The Droid wasn’t of much use, since his programming wasn’t very complex. Klessk also noticed that his cooking is mediocre at best, aswell.

From there they moved to the Chiefs office, where they found a deactivated Administrationdroid, whom they reactivated, in hope to gain some information of what is happening, which he cannot offer, so they decided to take him along and moved deeper into the mine, with the goal to examine that ship that landed.

On their way there they encountered a FX Medical Droid in the Mines Changing Room, as well as two corpses in the rooms Refresher. Just like the Cooking Droid, an interrogation of the Medical Droid revealed nothing of use, so the group decided to move on, to the Cargo Area.
A thorough search of the room revealed a deactivated Loadlifter and an angry Astromech charging at them, while screaming something at them in binary out of that even HK couldn’t make any sense of.

As HK answered in binary the Astromech apologized and rolled off to the Workshop.

The group decided to follow him to the Workshop, which was actually full of interesting stuff, like a smelter, a work bench and an oil bath.
The Work Bench revealed numerous tools, the area around the Oil Bath was full of oil splashes and as Iryani wanted to poke in the bath, the corpse of a woman floated atop, killed by blaster, just as any other Miner they found so far.

The group moved onto the Landingpad, finding the Freighter, the corpse of a Sullustan and Crates for smuggling weapons, the Ships logs were wiped. They found a bloodtrail leading to a corpse behind some crates, a miner bled to death by a blade wound, while he obviously tried to use a mining drill as a weapon.

Since they still found no clues, the only way left is into the mines and as they approached the Mines Entrance they found a group of Droids consisting out of a Loadlifter, Workerdroids, Battledroids, the EV-Supervisor Droid and the little R2-Astromech

Obviously not combatready, they approach the Droids.
The EV Unit, explains that pirates arrived in a Freighter and tricked them into letting them enter the facility, they are after money and Oridium and trapped the Miners inside the tunnels.

A quick scan revealed life forms to the direction EV-8D3 gave them, but Iryani, having suspicions, decided to stay behind, together with the Administration Droid (I wished it was HK, but the group argued that they needed every fighter to fight the pirates, if they were real)

Halfway in the tunnels, the fighting force heared a second warning, that this time Generator 5 is failing.

Fes, now squeezing everything out of the mining vehicle they took to get faster to the miners, got them in about 5 minutes to a way station, where the Miners bunkered down.
They announced themselves, but the Miners, lead by a man named Marv Mooray were pretty nervous and scared, so they engaged into a discussion, wether or not the group means them harm.
HK, tired of the Meatbag discussion announced his entry and entered the station with raised hands. The miners, still very afraid, did not shoot. Then Fes and Klessk entered, the Miners told them, how the Droids rose up and killed many Miners and that they need to fix the Storm Barrier Generators, because when 5 are destroyed, the Storm will destroy the whole facility.

In the mean time Iryani discussed what the Barrier Generator are and what the failing of those means.
The Administration Droid explained their purpose and Iryani decided to check their status in the Main office, EV-8D3 noticing this, offered her a Vanguard of Battledroids, while they had their fighting Routines deleted, they could work as a destraction. Iryani agreed, but wanted to know what was in the crate the Droids carried with them, one of them replied with ‘’Rodger-Rodger’’, took a Blaster out of the Crate and opened fire at her.
Iryani retreated to the Cargo Area, to fight off the Droids, but sadly her loyal Administration Droid was gunned down.
She held the Battledroids off and disposed of them with the use of a grenade.

Realising that she has no chance against the Droids, she wanted to seal the door, leading to the cargo area, but she did not manage to close it fully.

What EV used to Charge after her with a Loadlifter, which rammed the half closed door open.

Somewhere around now the Third Generator failed and Iryani tried to hold off the Loadlifter, the other droids were occupied with the rest of her group, arriving just in time.

Klessk and HK tore through the Droids as if they were paper and could assist Iryani, before the Loadlifter could actually harm her.
EV, tried to appeal to HK, as he was built after HK-01, leader if the Droid Rights Movement, the movement the Revolutionaries based their movement on. He could be their Leading figure. HK refused.
Sensing his defeat, EV fled to the Freighter, which he had R2 prepping ever since part of the group entered the mine, the FX medical Droid arrived and held the group, together with the second Loadlifter off, so that the Droid Revolution could live on.
As the Freighter lifted, FX blowed himself up as a final attempt to take as many with him as he could. It failed.

The miners arrived shortly after, but there was still the problem with the Generators and just then a warning noticed the group of the destruction of generator 7, the fourth defect generator.

Iryani and Mooray discussed what they can do and they came to the conclusion that it must be the Droid named Lookout who took the Cloud Car and is destroying the Generators.

So the group contacted R5, who flew the Krayt Fang to the closer Landingpad, loaded the ship with the Staff and as many goods as they could and chased after the Droid in the Could Car.

Iryani reasoned that Generator 8 must be the next to be destroyed, so they got its location and flew to its direction, while they scanned for a Cloud Car, thanks to that combined with Fes and Iryani squeezing everything out of the Krayt Fang, they managed to intercept Lookout before he reached the last Generator. In one Attack swipe, where HK and Klessk had two opportunities to get a shot at the Cloud Car, it was destroyed.

Returning to the Mine, Iryani discussed the money they need for Bargos.

The Mine has 165.000 Creds, from which they need 121.000 Creds for rebuilding, food and payment, after a long discussion, during which R5 repaired the Admin Droid, they came to an agreement.
The miners would make some deep cuts and the group would take 80.000 Creds to Bargos.

Now the group only has to explain themselves in front of Bargos…

There Iryani argued that the previous owner wanted to make quick money and that it was noticeable by the condition of the Mine, she also gave Genko some of the paperwork, who answers that this seems to add up.

Bargos, pleased with the group keeping his interest in mind, offered them to deal with their obligation and offeres them further deals in the future.

The PCs also had a talk about their backgrounds, but this post is already pretty long.

Two things I learned for everyone who wants to try this adventure: It lives by atmosphere. I added it abit, but you need to make every room feel alive, or else the Players get bored quickly.
Also, if your group has 10.000 Creds to spend, they will put this money to good use, the end fight was pretty anti-climatic, because the SCs were pretty OP.
So make sure to adjust the difficulty.

As allways, I hope you liked it, and feel free to leave a comment
