(And remember. One of Vader's Wingmen was Mauler Mithel, so if you put a Trench Run Vader on the Table, you can't also have Mauler, as he's there!)

I've wanted to do this as well. Maybe you could paint the fighters as distinctively as possible. Give the TIE wingmen a black paint job for Black Squadron. Might be a nice gesture to demonstrate that you're definitely not doing this to gain a psychological advantage by being confusing.

If not flanked how would you position him on the stand? Three TIE Advances don't make sense. Do they?

As long as it's perfectly clear what the stand represents: i.e. the Darth Vader squadron card.

Just check with you TO first, and make a note about it to all your opponents and you should be more than good.

At least two other people have had the idea, and at least one has played in tournaments using him, with no confusion.

I like it when Aces I am facing look drastically different. Makes it easier to spot intel and escort priority targets easier.

I think doing this makes vader stand out more then just the base art by itself. your also not the first player to do this very iconic mod to the Vader Squadron. I have seen 10 or more of these being used in games. I also have a Vader Squadron done this same way. No one has ever had a problem keeping track of him, Howl runner on the other hand with 3 ties with the center one painted with some red bits gets last in the mix all the time.

My Lord Vader would receive a special paint job, and I'd be sure to point it out. And I know he would get his share of "special attention" but that is why he has tokens!

I don't know how this would confuse anyone that this is Darth Vader...
