Intel timing question

By Artifixprime, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I was thinking of uses for Han and one idea was to use him in the ship phase to tie up at least part of a Rhymer Ball. I don't think it's all that useful though, but I wanted to confirm about Intel.

Let's say there's a ball of bombers, Rhymer, Dengar and assorted others.

At the start of a turn I activate Han first and place him at the edge of the ball away from any Intel bubble to engage at least some of of the squadrons.

In the Imperial player's turn, can then activate Dengar first and move him closer to Han and so free up the squadrons he had engaged? - I think he can, just want to be sure though.

Yes he can do that. If you can also block part of the blob from the other side in a way that an A-wing and Han cannot be both Intelled by Dengar then at least some of the blob can be pinned.

With the scenario you describe if the rhymer ball has to move a long way then at least they have to leave Dengar behind by moving him close to Han then moving the blob far away. You can now kill Dengar or use Han's Grit to move away and chase down Rhymer.

Thanks.

Good point about follow up turn too :)

You may also shoot and move here, so Han could go and tie up the ball and leave Rhymer behind after having shot at him.
